Not sure how many folks have seen this. It is a song Adam Sandler recently wrote about his friend, Chris Farley, who passed away 21 year ago yesterday (the date this video was released). It isn't a great lyrical or musical masterpiece (only time Sandler has achieved that is the Hannuakh song), but it feels heartfelt and honest... and it made me smile a few times.
Enjoy...
-Jason "the guitar solo feels unnecessary... I mean, if we want a brilliant comedy routine, we don't look to Eddie Van Halen for it...so why is Sandler doing a guitar solo?" Evans
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?
Nice clip - heartfelt and funny. Thanks Jason for sharing. 1
I didn't mind the solo so much - it could be background stuff while pix and clips of CF went on in the background. The bigger beef I have is Sandler's tendency to shove 15 syllables into a line that has space for 12, and sometimes 10 when there ought to be 12. If his writing was tighter the lyrics would flow better and not be so awkward in delivery.
Anyway, Farley was great, and if I ever need a pick me up, there's always his Bennett Brauer or Matt Foley. Can't go wrong with a motivational speaker who lives in a van down by the river!
