Oh man I am seriously hoping this duo becomes THE frontcourt in 2-3 years. Marvin and Harry both possess games tailor-made for the NBA and compliment each other so well. Each can shoot it, run to the rim, and rebound. De'Aaron Fox has a couple of studs in the frontcourt and is a very exciting point guard that will get these two involved. As a cherry on top, Marvin and Harry have the opportunity to force a pair of Kentucky kids to the bench in Willie Cauley-Stein and Skal Labissier.
Mo might have gotten dunked on, but he definitely held his own against the Kings frontcourt. He also was jawing back and forth with Giles and was showing some real toughness. Wagner might be a hidden gem.
Giles was playing way too fast - doesn't have his "NBA legs" yet. But he definitely had some plus plays and was swarming on defense. Looks like he was ready to play his first ever NBA game.
Bagley was doing Bagley things, but you can definitely see he'll need to adjust a bit to the NBA - had his shot blocked straight up a couple of times and was getting pushed around a bit because he's not super strong. Once he starts to gain weight and muscle, he'll be fine.
I hope Trae Young is more durable than he looks. He spends an awful lot of time picking himself up from the floor.
I watched the first quarter and agree that Wagner looked pretty good. Although for a shooter, he didn't shoot very well.
Giles and, especially Bagley, do have to add strength and play better D. They didn't look like polished vets out there, but the potential shown from both in that 2 minute stretch was pretty exceptional
Coach K on Kyle Singler - "What position does he play? ... He plays winner."
"Duke is never the underdog" - Quinn Cook
The day started with the Spurs beating the Hawks 103-81.

The Pistons announced that Luke will be held out of Summer League.
How many points did Liangelo Ball score?
Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."
Oof, rough game two for Bagley and Giles. Bagley went 3-16 from the field. Giles was only slightly better at 2-9.
After a day off, we get a quadruple header on Thursday on NBATV and ESPN3 (times ET):
Lakers vs Warriors, 3pm
Heat vs Kings (Harry and Marvin), 5pm
Grizzlies vs Spurs, 7pm
Hawks vs Jazz (Grayson?), 9pm
Bagley was pretty bad; he kept getting out-muscled inside. Had a few shots blocked one on one. But, to his credit, he kept playing hard and being aggressive and didn't let his bad night affect his effort.
Giles still looks like he plays too fast and is a bit clumsy at times. He'll figure it out, but I think Bagley and Giles were hurt by DeAngelo Fox sitting out. Frank Mason doesn't push the pace nearly as well.
JP Tokoto checking in with a 2-8 (0-2) performance so far. Some things never change...
He was a likeable enough kid, but that was the exact opposite of my take of Tokoto... except I’d agree, he wasn’t a great shooter.
I’d call him flashy, full of unfulfilled potential. I’ve seen hundreds of players over the year like him. He never got the mental toughness side of the game.
He was very talented, a good team mate, but never shed the soft label from me.
I never thought he did the dirty work of really hustling and playing D. I always felt like he coasted through on his athleticism looking for a big play moment.
His career was defined for me by one play...where he failed to even try to fight through the screen/hold (no foul, bang bang play), by a tough/scrappy Winslow that allowed Jones an uncontested drive to the rim for a big Duke win. He made no effort in a situation that screamed effort, but where there was no time to think about effort...it should have come from effort in his DNA and it wasn’t there.
He was soft, and worse, it was contagious on the teams he was on with young players like Brice Johnson, Meeks, Hicks, and Justin Jackson.
Here’s the late game highlights from that game...note the Passive D from Tokoto...and the great plays from Jones if you must👏

If we're talking about straight-up weirdness, maybe that SIU fan who was 100% convinced that we would not only lose to them, but also lose our following few games because SIU so thoroughly dominates opponents that they experience a "Saluki hangover." Ah DBR...
