Darnit. Zonovan decommitted. Says Duke is still high on his list, but that option goes against what Cut has always said. I doubt he’ll ever play for Duke. Would be nice to be wrong.

Yep. These hurt. Any time we get a decommit, I hope we play him and tackle him very, very hard. Poor form IMO and poor form for other schools to continue to recruit him. We should also try to steal committed players from those particular schools only.

I hear he de-committed because he was upset about scheduling the Army game for Friday night.

Facing Alabama in his first game scared him off.
Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."

NC State gets a lot of love and/or respect around here. Often it is for good reason. But let's note today that they are one of the two schools specifically mentioned as continuing to "stay in touch" with Knight after his commitment.

I believe NCS poached one of our commits last year.

I'm not exactly sure what you are referencing here as the service academies do not redshirt so their players do not get a 5th year much less a 6th year. A quick review of their spring roster reveals two things:

    https://goarmywestpoint.com/roster.aspx?path=football

    1. QB Ahmad Bradshaw is gone
    2. No player is listed as a redshirt anything. Everyone is either a sophomore, junior or senior.

Even in the case of missed seasons due to injury?

It looks like there was some question about whether he might get another year (missed his freshman year for some unspecified issue):

The linked article states he didn't graduate with his class in May so I don't know how that affects the situation. All I can say is he isn't listed on the roster and the service academies do not redshirt. I believe he will not be on the team.

Here's an article from Army spring practice. It still appears to be up in the air.

It appears the situation is less "cut and dry" than I thought. My apologies to duke2X.

I maintain he will not be on the football team in 2018. The USMA will be focused on ensuring Bradshaw is focused on correcting whatever deficiencies prevented him from graduating with his class in May.

    Time will tell...

I think you're right...sounds familiar...and I'm still steamed about the Chazz Surratt situation too (although, would we have had Daniel Jones? Who will end up being better, Surratt or Jones?)

Humphreys is one of 42 student-athlete nominees for the 15th annual Lott IMPACT Trophy, which honors the top defensive player in college football who makes the biggest impact for his team, both on and off the field.

Hard to believe the ACC has four better QBs than Daniel Jones.

I would also expect a healthy Humphreys and a healthy McDuffie to be in the All-ACC mix. McDuffie's fall status is still TBD.

Agreed. I was also very impressed with the play of Marquis Waters late in the year, and think he could be a rising star.
