Prodcast... I'm still laughing about that.

Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

Nice work, guys. One minor correction: the Wendell Carter block that he grabbed from the Miami player was actually on Dewan Huell, not Bruce Brown. But really, Huell was the guy who had been dunking on us all night (he had a great game with 18 points and 13 rebounds), and he's an athletic 6'11" forward, so the block (or does it count as a steal? Bleal?) was even more impressive than had it been on Brown.

Regarding Kyrie and the flat earth conspiracy, I believe he is on record as admitting he was just trolling reporters when he first started claiming he believed in it. After he first mentioned it publically, a reporter asked him if he really believed the earth was flat. His response was to the effect of “what would it mean to you if I said yes?” He later described the entire situation as a social experiment in which he wanted to study the level of influence that athletes have.

I only know all of this because a bunch of my UNC acquaintances started spouting off recently about how Duke athletes are idiots and how it’s even worse than not going to class because we teach them to be morons. So I did a little research into what Irving actually said/did in order to respond.

And as fun as hyperbole is, Kyrie/JJ talked conspiracy and the commotion surrounding flat earth for 10 minutes (out of 51). The DBR podcast talked about it for 6 minutes. So really, that topic didn’t really eat up JJ’s podcast too much.

A google search for “Kyrie Irving troll” yields dozens of articles similar to the one above. Of course, my UNC friends claim he simply got caught realizing how dumb he was and now this is just an excuse he made up, saying he was trolling to cover his own stupidity. So, people will believe what they want, which I guess was his intention to begin with.
