It is so nice to see the acknowledgement below. I wish more folks that have found success in America appreciated this fact and vocalized this sentiment.
In fairness to our governmental partner, our shareholders should acknowledge – indeed trumpet – the fact
that Berkshire’s prosperity has been fostered mightily because the company has operated in America. Our
country would have done splendidly in the years since 1965 without Berkshire. Absent our American home,
however, Berkshire would never have come close to becoming what it is today. When you see the flag, say
thanks.

Would a Russian sovereign debt default be a danger for the markets/banking system?

Would a Russian decision to nationalize foreign assets have a significant impact on western markets?
https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/156606...e-ruling-party
Plenty of impact on western markets even w/o nationalization. I suspect 1st and 2nd quarter corporate earnings (at the least) to be severely impacted. There are a lot big plants, particularly in Europe, that are running scenario analyses right now to see when the cost of natural gas makes them unprofitable and they just shut down for a bit. Commodity markets, particularly metals, are skyrocketing, too. Companies are doing everything they can to pass along the costs but the current dynamic is not sustainable and something has got to give.
Yesterday was a pretty good day to buy Pioneer down 12.
