Seems like we’re going on 20 years now of the year of Linux on the desktop.
I’d imagine WSL on Windows 10 is sufficient for most casual use cases these days.

You may be right as far as users who just need to do something in Linux, but for those leaving Windows over issues of privacy, security, and control - I'm not sure WSL is going to lure any of those folks back. It looks like another "embrace, extend, extinguish" play to me.
