    Three-point shooting?

Ellis is considered an elite long-range shooter. Baker could be. If Duke gets Hurt-real shot here--that adds another 3-point shooter. Moore is decent, maybe better than decent.

Duke should be an improved 3-point shooting team next season
Yep. We should be much less athletic next year. But we should also be a much better shooting team next year.

We can only hope to be as alarmingly unathletic as 2010!

Tredon Watford played at Mountain Brook High school, Al, which is one of the top 150 HS in the nation academically.

Duke should be the perfect transition for him. The one thing that worries me are some of the schools recruiting him, Alabama, Memphis, and LSU, and the ones that didn't, UNC, Nova. Hope that there isn't something that they dug up that we're overlooking...

I like his measurements much better than Hurts. Then again, I learned my lesson with Nassir Little and Cameron Reddish. He also looks super slow from the highlights. Zion and RJ spoiled me...

And maybe Coach K brings back the zone. You gotta do what you gotta do. GoDuke!

FWIW his brother was ranked lower than he was and he had a nice career at Indiana. Duke has a good track record with brothers so I think he’d be a good fit.

watford still doesn't have an offer. sounds like he will only get one if Hurt says no on 4/19.

    or...

they don't want to offer Watford right now because it turn Hurt off with his April 19th commitment announcement coming up... but if Hurt commits first, they'll take Watford also.

Watford has been speaking in a code a bit saying he doesn't have an offer "but they (duke) have pretty much told me they want me."

We need both. Both are very talented and I think at least 1 of them will be a multi year player. We need more multi year guys even if it's just 2 years.

Someone mentioned in another thread about Anthony Harris who chose VT, wonder if we'll try and get back with him since Buzz left. From what I recall not long after he said no to Duke we went after Boogie.

Anthony Harris ranked lower than AOC, and much lower than Boogie. Boogie is looking like a 3-4 year player so I don't see a need for Anthony.

Duke seemingly will have Marques, Javin, Jack, Joey, and Vernon next year. I can’t seen how it needs both of Hurt and Watford next year. Might be nice to have the two of them in two years, but I can’t see it as a need.

Boogie is a thin and smaller kid who may well add some strength before Nov this year. Hope his game gets good enough to contribute as PG may be our biggest need.

Boogie scores with the best of them. Is the knock on him that he has no PG skills despite being small even for PG?

If he is a short but excellent CG, we have had success with those types in Nolan, Seth, and Quinn.

He isn’t short for a PG. he is 6’2”. But yes, part of his ranking is that he is a 6’2” SG.

harris never got an offer. he visited and left without an offer and then picked VA Tech. I think he was insurance if Boogie said no which wasn't that far fetched because we hadn't been on him that hard. we only turned up the heat after Josiah jones and bryan antoine committed elsewhere. there was an article somewhere that quoted boogie as saying Coach K said Antoine and Jones had told him they were coming to Duke so they didn't recruit Boogie...basically saying we didn't ignore you because you weren't good enough, we had other things in place... and then they committed elsewhere. If that's accurate and I assume it is, something swayed Jones and Antoine. They were both heavily trending to Duke and then went elsewhere.

We are specialists in turning sharpshooting combo guards into superstars!

Boogie would do well to try and emulate Nolan's career.

I would highly doubt it. Does not seem Duke’s style to go after other team’s commits. It also is worth noting that Harris is recovering from a torn ACL and did not play this season for Paul VI (Fairfax, Va).

I haven't seen a lot about Boogie but I do know that teams who do well in the tournament always seem to have sollid guard play. Auburn is like that will two very guick guards who can score from outside but also can blow by people. I look forward to seeing what this kid can do.

Not much of a surprise, but Anthony Harris has reopened his recruitment in the wake of Buzz Williams's departure from Virginia Tech. Will Duke get re-involved?

UK picks up a grad transfer in Nate Sestina, from Bucknell. 6'9" forward that shot 80% from the FT line, 38% from 3. Scored 16 points, 8.5 rebounds a game. He only became a starter his senior season at Bucknell.

Sound a good deal like UK is out of the running for Matthew Hurt. Also an interesting strategy. How will Sestina perform against high major competition?
