You think that's bad? This player has already been featured in for-profit commercials for a sports broadcasting company. Did he get paid? Did the school/company pay for his transportation/food/lodging for the shoot? Was this commercial opportunity available for non-athletes?

Kansas is looking good, they also picked up a grad transfer earlier in the week. Champions Classic is going to be insane.

They may be looking at serious sanctions, including a postseason ban. I wonder if these recruits are aware of the story that broke today.

The fact that Kansas and Arizona continue to recruit at an elite level provides evidence that recruits don’t give a damn. They either don’t believe punishment is coming or feel that it will be more than a year away (which is a reasonable assumption from what we’ve seen in the past).

Or, maybe they'd rather take the money now and aren't all that concerned about playing bin the tournament?

As this thread heads into the sunset I went back and looked at the first page (almost four years old). Post one is about LaMelo Ball (lol) - although just today LaVar said he will be the no 1 pick next year. Second player mentioned was Matthew Hurt - that one worked out well recruiting wise.

You thought the recruiting season was done? THINK AGAIN!

Michigan just officially signed Franz Wagner, Mo’s little bro, after a prolonged decision making process as he weighed playing pro in Germany.

This signing could have a big effect on the B1G race. Wagner is seen as a potential 2020 first round pick and fills a big need for Michigan. He’s been listed at anywhere between 6-6 and 6-8 and is a deadeye three point shooter, exactly what Michigan lost in its early entrants to the draft. Michigan should now trot out a starting lineup with senior Zavier Simpson at the point, senior Jon Teske at center, junior Isaiah Livers at PF, and Wagner on the wing, with a plethora of talented sophomore battling for the last starting spot (amazingly there was no attrition from that class with Beilein’s departure).

Michigan is by no means a top 10 team like they could’ve been, but they can’t be ignored on the national landscape in 2020 anymore. This is a huge get for Juwan Howard in year 1.

FWIW my go to Michigan fan-site is similarly bullish on the Wolverine's with Wagner. Obviously there is major homer bias, but I agree that his arrival pushes Michigan from a bubble team to a Sweet 16 contender.

As for this year's team, the addition of Wagner moves the Wolverines from somewhere in the middle of the Big Ten pack to probable double-bye in the Big Ten Tournament. I thought they'd be a bubble team without Wagner; with him, they could make a run at another top-four seed if one or two of last year's freshmen become steady contributors. It's hard to overstate how important this commitment was for Howard's program to start this era of Michigan basketball on the right foot.
