The flavors are subtle, but both the vanilla and the blueberry are discernible. A very smooth, easy-drinking beer, checking in at 6% ABV and an IBU count of 27. Decent enough that I'll be keeping an eye out for others from this relatively new brewery.
This reads like an amazing beer.

    Brewery Bhavana “Soft Beer Fest”

    3/31 2-6pm

    Only 300 tickets, $70 each.

We can’t go due to family obligations. Looks like it will be an excellent event.

I'm learning (almost) anything Brewery Bhavana does is excellent.

    Christmas Pancakes-Hardywood Park Craft Brewery

Another tip of the tulip to accfanfrom1970 for his brewery pick-up and fuse for his long distance delivery!

I think this is beer #4 from the 2018 GBS Complete Set.

It's the original GBS with maple syrup added. Ymm, pancakes/waffles.

I divided the 500 ml bottle over two nights, sipping on the last few molecules as I type. Appearance is dark, dark brown with a thin tan head. Nose is dark chocolate, vanilla, dark brown sugar and maple. Tastes are pretty similar with a hint of espresso (not added) and a very subtle zing of ginger at the end. Dark chocolate and maple shake? Stats are the same as the GBS with 55 IBUs and 9.2% ABV. Another excellent Hardywood offering. I'm going to ponder a hierarchy of the GBS products and post that a bit later this evening. (Hint: they're all very good to excellent)

Local sources say Trophy on Morgan has “the King”, a peanut butter and banana dubbel, for the first time in six years.

    GBS rankings:

    Double Barrel GBS 2017
    Bourbon Barrel GBS 2017
    GBS
    Christmas Pancakes
    Christmas Morning.

I will continue to sing the praises of accfanfrom1970 and fuse for their respective parts in the pick-up/delivery of the 2018 GBS Complete Sets.

Haven't had the 2018 DB GBS or BB GBS. Yet.

I agree the bourbon/rum double barrel gbs was the best. Just spectacular. I like this years double barrel, but not as much as last year. Really want to open the rum barrel, trying to wait. I think the pancakes and Christmas morning will drop behind this years bourbon barrel, double barrel and caliente. Have not tried the Kentucky Christmas morning or the Rye barrel aged yet.

Taking the Caliente and Apple Brandy Barrel GBS to Columbus next week to share with our son as he split a set with a friend and didn't get either of those. I'm such a good father .

The call-out was subtle, but not *that* subtle.

I haven't seen any yet, but am keeping an eye out. Actually two eyes.

Funny story. Our son sent me a photo of this with a text asking me to purchase a 4 pack and deliver it to Ohio next week and I reminded him NoDa does not distribute and any shop owner who wants any of their brews has to drive to Charlotte to obtain them. He had forgotten that fact and informed me the photo he sent was from Stella, which made me think immediately of that certain someone.

    Beer plans for tonight?

I'm thinking a BBA Oskar Blue Ten Fidy stovepipe. I'm hoping our guys cover the ABV spread.

At that size and ABV, you should have plenty of time for sipping and savoring (I hope).

I'm on call tonight so no alcohol for me but your stovepipe should suffice for both of us .

    It's
    Tuesday

15% ABV. Might be available in NC.

    The acronym fits...

No, just the one. But I don't think I'll ever drink another one again. And not because of any flaw in the beer, but the indelibility of the memories. Ugh.
