While I expect areas like Asheville, and Wake County are outliers, this equates to one brewery per every 50k US residents.
This would mean Apex would have one brewery, and presently has three.
I wonder what a beer heat map of NC would look like. The per capita consumption of Charlotte, Asheville and Raleigh-Durham area would be the likely hot spots.

High West Barrel Aged Victory at Sea (9/2/17 bottling date)-Ballast Point Brewing
I guess it's ok to review after another 3 months "in the cellar." Couldn't wait 6 months like I usually do.
Let's see, what's different?
Perhaps a bit thinner and a tad less booziness with more dark chocolate-covered caramel flavors this time around. Maybe I'll sample/share this in November at a tailgate with the 2018 w00t Stout.

Bill’s Front Porch & Brewery (Wilmington)
Mermen are Pretty Too NEIPA
Smells like pineapple juice.
Tastes like a pretty good NEIPA- sweety and juicy fruity.
Dry hopped with Galaxy, Simcoe, Zythos, and Citra.
7.7% ABV
A little remote arm twisting (ouch! No, stop it, really! ) and I threw a four pack of 16oz cans in the grocery basket.
Bill’s Brewery Co is new to me.
The can artwork is tastefully disturbing- think a balding blonde male Ariel with a beard, posing on a rock. Perhaps you can understand why I needed some encouragement to buy this beer.
Well worth it, and truthfully my second IPA on IPA day.
Cheers all!
Looking forward to Wasatch beer-sightings and reports from Tripping William soon...

Moab Brewery’s Dead Horse amber ale. The can says you can’t beat a dead horse, but the beer is named after Dead Horse Point State Park. A nice light brown color. Some hints of a little caramel. Malty, but with a little bite to it. Solid swing oil for a round at Hobble Creek Golf Course.
Also grabbed a sixer of Uinta’s Piggyback peach IPA. I have never had a peach IPA before, so interested to taste it tomorrow.
"Amazing what a minute can do."

How many of these "whales" have fellow Ymm, Beer readers tasted?
