Three Floyds Robert the Bruce Scottish style ale
I'm not much of a scotch ale fan, and I do think Brueprint's Edinbrue is one of my favorites.
Rich caramel and toffee nose.
Syrupy sweet intermixed with smoke, offset by low level bitterness.
Pretty nice, another road trip find courtesy of devildeac!

Hope this doesn't cause Cameron Born and Bred any heartburn.
All in good fun!
Looks more like dd is really tasting a clear Wicked Weed sour.

That's why I am not buying any. So Mattman's decision not to wait in line this year was validated. But I would strongly suggest getting some of the Warrior Series' chocolate stout release this weekend. Even if I took the time now to remember it's exact name, it wouldn't matter. As Seinfeld has said in the past "they (it) are (is) spectacular!" It will be in stores shortly, so no problem.

Stocking up for the long weekend, I returned with:
- Mother Earth Silent Night
- Mother Earth Fig & Raisin
- Wicked Weed Milk & Cookies
- Wicked Weed Dark Age
- Olde Hickory Lindley Park
- Uinta BBA Stout
Happy Turkey Day, y'all.
"Amazing what a minute can do."
Lots of bourbon barrel influences. Really boozy. 12% ABV and it tastes like it. Really good, but a tad dangerous. Like Luke Kennard on a hot-streak.
"Amazing what a minute can do."
Post game stopped at Sams.
Got a Bruery Nine Ladies Dancing (reason for the stop), a Mother Earth Honey, a Wicked Weed Milk and Cookies, and a six pack of Shiner Cheer.
The amazing bonus? My benefactor for tickets for the evening more than generously gifted me a bottle of Ad Idem that devildeac and I have been discussing for some time.
On deck for Thanksgiving...a New Glarus theme.
Likely start with Cran-bic and move from there to Serendipity.
Not sure if a nice pinot will make an appearance or not.
Happy Thanksgiving all!
Maple Scotch Ale-Sierra Nevada Brewing
Another tip of the pint glass to August West for this trader!
Pour was a clean and clear medium brown, even with its bottle-conditioned nature. Small, quickly disappearing head. Enticing aromas of caramel, faint smoke/peat and herbal hops, followed by tastes of pumpernickel bread, maple, toffee and milk chocolate. A bit more of a bite than expected for the style with IBUs of 43 to accompany the fairly standard ABV of 7.3%. Pair this with almost anything from the grill/smoker, including burgers, brisket or ribs. I'd buy a litter of these if they were available by the 4 pack or 6er. Here's the ingredient list:
YEAST Ale yeast
BITTERING HOPS Aurora
FINISHING HOPS Aurora
MALTS Two-row Pale, Caramel, Munich, Chocolate
OTHER Maple Syrup
