Merry Monks-Weyerbacher Brewing
I'm almost embarrassed to post that I've never had this beer. It's their Belgian-style triple ale.
Appearance: slightly cloudy with a fizzy, foamy, lacy, lingering head
Color: light golden-yellow
Nose: banana, orange juice, citrus peel, spicy
Tastes: coriander?, orange juice, orange pith, hints of black pepper, banana, light brown sugar
Hops: Hallertau, Saaz, Fuggles (they need one more to make it a Euro stretch 4 )
Grains: Pilsner, maybe pale and Two-row
IBU: 18
ABV: 9.3%
Glassware: tulip or snifter
Food pairing: mussels (silly me), light seafood entrees, melons, berries
Very good for the style at about $12 for the 6er with my buck off Total Wine coupon last week. Several available for tasting/trading . Perhaps coming soon to a tailgate near you.

Cool article about Asheville's South Slope.
https://www.craftbeer.com/craft-beer...e?src=83016_T2
The article mentions 7 breweries, but they forgot about Bhramari and Ben's.
Given the number of Ashevilleans (sp??) who frequent this thread, I was really surprised, when I searched, that no one has reviewed this beer yet. Part of Wicked Weed's Canvas Series, here is what Untapped had to say:
"Myrtille is a golden sour ale aged in neutral wine barrels. Two pounds per gallon of fresh, whole North Carolina grown blueberries contribute an earthy and tannic backbone to this uniquely southern sour. When the time is right, the barrels are blended to achieve the perfect balance of berry and house Brett culture."
It pours a brilliantly beautiful ruby-red color, with a medium-sized off-white/pinkish head. The blueberry notes shine through really well, but don't overpower things. I'm still a bit of a sour beer novice, but I thought this was nicely balanced. And at 6.0% ABV, it isn't high-gravity, but not flyweight either. I may just have to pick up a couple more bottles on my next trip to the local Whole Foods.

Hopsolution-Bell's Brewery
Yet another entrant in the crowded IIPA arena. This one is a foamy, orange-yellow pour that has first impression scents of canned pineapple juice, flavors of a Dole juice blend of pineapple juice, OJ, orange zest and a piney, oily finish. Bell's doesn't quote IBUs anywhere because bitterness is in the mouth of the beerholder, or some such nonsense they claimed somewhere on their website. But, this is a moderately bitter beverage, guessing 80 IBUs and the ABV is a bit thin for the style at "only" 8%. I like Two Hearted Ale better (I know, it's really an IPA.) and Hopslam and Hoptimum from SN are better DIPAs. I'm waiting for fuse to deliver a bottle or two of The Oracle for a comparison . I'd pair this with spicy entrees and have several available for trading during FB season.

Wicked Weed El Paraiso Coffee Imperial Stout

9.5%
Great cold coffee nose
Thick, rich, dry and like a complex cup of coffee with a cocoa finish.
Excellent!
Eight.
No typo.

NoDa Hop Drop and Roll is a perfect beer.
I don't label that lightly.
Amazing, amazing beer.
I just drank my last 16 ounce can of Coco Loco from NoDa Brewing. After sipping half of it, I remembered I was supposed to be saving it for ricks68, I think. It sure was rich and chocolate-y.
