Perhaps a better way to put it is if you like a strong hoppy IPA with some strawberry notes, you'd enjoy Toaster Pastry.

Ok, I concede you win and I am still enjoying this 2015 New Belgium La Folie.

Outside of a pending devildeac delivery, I have determined I am as few as ten and maybe as many as 40 days away from an empty beer fridge (save for the Silent Nights which will cellar until next December).

Finally getting around to the can of Sun King Ring of Dingle Irish style dry stout can.

    Really nice.
    Roasty, Guinness-like goodness.

An impressive stout, although I have to admit it has been a long time since I had a "simple" stout.

I have about a half a case of various styles and formats for you when we can meet. Plus, perhaps a surprise...

    Drink local!

Packaged on 2/11/16 at their (almost) new brewery in Beer City, USA, this is an interesting variation of a gose-style ale. Decanted into a pint glass from a 12 ounce bottle, the color was straw with a smallish head. Slightly floral, fruity nose with tastes of pear, apple, a pinch of coriander, a smaller pinch of salt and a drop or two of white grapefruit juice, with a minimally tart finish. Next to no bitterness at 5 IBUs (no typo) from hops listed as "experimental" and the ABV of 4.5% from two row pale and wheat malts with adjuncts of cactus, grapefruit and coriander. Our younger son-in-law visited the brewery in Asheville last week and had six 2 ounce samples and liked this the best (he has a tender palate), purchasing 6ers of cans and bottles (to compare taste/quality and to share/trade ) for Triangle distribution. This would pair nicely with summer weather (hey, it was 70 here today), a plate of fresh fruit or a light seafood entree.

An unadvertised keg of Pliny the Younger appeared at Hamilton's pub here in San Diego on Sunday afternoon. I'm more of a Blind Pig fan, however.

Save some for me! The Younger is rare stuff from what I understand.

It gets to Hamilton's and Urge (about a mile from my house) here in SD every year about this time. Sadly, because there is such demand for Pliney the Elder, RR isn't distributing Blind Pig anymore. It's only available at the brewery. But you're right, PtY is only available in kegs, in very small numbers and around this time of year.

Sampled some VERY NICE Haw River ales this evening.

Javacherry is not to be missed.

The table beer and Mille Fleur saison were also very distinct and delicious.

Oh, and Sam Adams Grand Kosmic Funk is world class.

    Cheers!

Considering all the additives and colors, the saison is now no longer just a spring saison-al beer but should/would be tasty all year.

Pretty tasty from a can, too. I couldn't perceive much difference as I sipped (furiously and nervously) during the first half last PM.

Yep. I never got one from ricks68's delivery. Kinda like we messed up and ricks68 got 2 Midnight Brues and a Cherry Midnight Brue, which he lovingly returned to me last month and that I'll be finishing tonight.
