Ah, I only got a sip - I was busy with some coffee porter instead. Is this stuff really hard to find? Something tells me I don't want to know the answer.

This brewery continues to grow just west of Philly. I don't believe they're distributed to some you NClinians. They brewed over 225000 barrels last year, very impressive.

I tasted this beer tonight-bought a sixer, gave two away, kept two and sampled one.

Very floral nose and hoppy, after noting Citra as one of the hops, that explained that. Lots of mouthfeel and complex. If anyone says this beer is weak or light I'd be shocked.

I'll keep the remaining 2 for friends in NC.

Also purchased St. Bernardus Xmas Ale today for our family get-together next Thursday. I also have to make a dessert.
Bread pudding comes to mind. Bought another bottle today and will disclose it tomorrow
Some Victory products make their way to NC. I'd like to find some Old Horizontal, a smooth, drinkable, potent barleywine that I haven't seen for several years. I still remember and appreciate you bringing Devil Wolf down to NC one time this FB season. Or was that last year? All these winning campaigns are starting to run together.

    -jk,

I know you're a bourbon guy, but if you ever got the chance to sample the Goose Island Bourbon Barrel Stout that cspan is talking about, I think you'd be highly impressed. It has been consistently rated as one of the top 10-20 beers in the world. I have a 2013 bottle in the 'fridge now that fuse traded to me and I can't decide whether that'll be a Christmas eve beverage this year or next year.

Good catch. They should market a Devil Wolf in NC and say GTHc, GTH!

If it had a place large enough for a 22 ounce bottle, I guess you could call it a "bomber" jacket.

    Giddy with Delight

Many thanks for Bruisin Ales in Asheville for an early Christmas (to me)!

    Where to start?

    Samichlaus Barrique
Mother Earth Silent Night 2014 (keeps my have tried every vintage streak going!)
    Asheville Ninjaman Porter
Triple C Bourbon Barrel Aged Up All Night Porter (new to me, saw it on the website and thought, why not?)
    Lagunitas Brown Shugga
Haw River No Holdsies Bourbon Barrel Aged, Chardonnay Barrel Aged, Red Wine Barrel Aged
    Stone Stoichasiticity Master of Disguise
    New Belgium Le Terroir

Too bad I have an event to go to tonight as they arrived cold from being in the FedEx truck.
I have to again give a tip of the hat to mattman- his shipping was much cheaper than Bruisin Ales.

With petrol readily/widely available for $2.40/gal or less, we mighta/shoulda planned a trip to Bruisin Ales ourselves, loaded up a vehicle and maybe even saved a few $ on shipping costs. Plus, we coulda had lunch at 12 Bones AND seen mattman, ricks68 and MountainDevil AND had a draft or two at Wicked Weed or The Thirsty Monk.

Love, love, love the idea. Don't think I could drive back and forth to Asheville for $34 in shipping, much less add in 12 Bones and Wicked Weed. $134, maybe :-)

Man, I need to find beer stores with sales on good beer. $2 off a 12 pack of Bud Light at Publix is about the only sale I ever see . I also have a Valar Morghulis and am interested to see what Ommegang does with a Game of Thrones beer style (dubbel) more up their traditional alley. I've never had a braggot (and didn't know what the style was until I looked it up). Seems like a style Rogue should be good at. Will be interested to read your review of that one. Cheers!

Nice haul. Haven't had many of these but Brown Shugga and Le Terroir are great beers. Reminds me that I need to try to find some Brown Shugga this year. Master of Disguise (a golden stout) looks very interesting. Will have to read your review on that one. Enjoy!
