Ymm, Beer

Equilibrium names their beers after complex derivatives and math terms like fractals. They picture formulas and graphs on their cans of supposedly how they arrive at perfection. I wonder if they really get that into their recipe. They probably get beer nerded out on it and do for real, I'm guessing. Good beer for sure.

I've heard they actually help some people.

Yep when you're used to drinking Veil, understandable that other fruited beers aren't quite as good.

If Nrrrrvous and I are posting about the same beer, I thought The Answer product he was referencing was very, very good and in the same zip code as a Veil smoothie.

That is Rogue Dead Guy Ale, an old, old favorite of mine and one of my early craft ales.

Oh yeah that is an old good one. I'm pretty sure I brought a 40 oz growler-like bottle of this to a poker home game party about 20 years ago. I probably slept on the host's couch that night.

At an airport I'm guessing that bottle cost $20? But maybe worth a good nap on the flight.

Tough to sleep on an airplane for me unless there's a cocktail involved.

Another one to try from Jackie O's that sounds like it would well represent what they can do. Ymmm walnuts and deep nuttiness;

I've seen this one on more than one occasion; likely as a gift and then picking one up for accfan.

Everyone's variant of the pepper beer seems to balance it with cinnamon and vanilla. You know me and a good pepper beer, BBA Oro Negro certainly sounds like Category 3 stuff worth trying.

Those adjuncts seem to provide a nice foil for the heat.

You saved the best for last. If I only tried one Jackie O's beer, this sounds like the one I would pick (and that Nrrrvous would pick).

Ol' Rugger and variants are brewery release only, IIRC, in December.

Ohio definitely sounds like one of those states with extremely high quality breweries making each other better.

I think they're #12 in the US for # of breweries with about 300 when I checked last year.

Mrs. Tripping insisted on a vodka-based cocktail for watching the end of the Masters today. (It was delicious.) So only NoDa Jam Session on the beer front (used as swing oil). Back to regularly scheduled programming tomorrow (in more ways than one, unfortunately).

I'd have thought NoDa Par 4 would've been more in line with the event.

Southern Tier brewed a very good Old Fashioned a few years ago. One other brewer did, too, but that one I don't recall.

The Masters is the best deal in sports. $5 imports, pimento cheese sandwiches for $1.50. Shirts and stuff are cheaper than at a normal golf pro shop.

The badges are fantastically reasonable in price. Getting one though, well — that’s the trick.
