So glad I happened upon these. One of my favorites from Three Notch'd. I think I've said that a couple times now...

"This blend of spontaneously fermented beer is aged on local raspberries. We begin brewing Coolship Red with Pilsner malt, 40% raw wheat, and aged whole-leaf hops. The unfermented wort is then transferred to a large shallow pan called a coolship, which allows the hot wort to mingle with wild yeast and souring microbiota in the Maine air. After fermenting and aging in French oak wine barrels for over two years, we add raspberries and let it rest for an additional four to five months. The finished beer is bright red in color with an aroma of raspberry and oak. Its raspberry-forward flavor is balanced by notes of light funk, apricot, and a tart, dry finish."

Just thinking about this one makes me want another. I've been watching my Tripping Wine/Total William but haven't seen any recently.
Amazing beer. Did you get this one at TW or was it a trader from RJ199?

I'd never heard of it or seen it before. I was stunned Bottle Rev had it and even more stunned I had the good sense/cents to actually buy it. I was intrigued.

    BOURBON BARREL-AGED SCOTCH ALE
    2020 ABV: 11%

"Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts, a bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark fruit. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate."

While I'm on the subject of BBA Scotch Ales. Can't forget this one!

Being a Scotch (style) ale, the barkeep yesterday would have even given you credit if you'd poured it during VP.

    Correct and correct.

The first one was from RJ and then I found it again about a month later at my own TW. Haven't seen it since! Probably better that way, it's a bit pricey!

Oooh, another one that would've received extra credit during our United Kingdom VP yesterday.

Allagash Coolship beers are *not* cheap, but worth the splurge a couple/three times annually.

For some unknown reason, BBA Scotch Ales don't seem to last very long around the Nrrrrvous household. They must have a high evaporation factor or something.

    LOL

Which style has a higher evaporation coefficient, BBA Scotch ales or BBA quads?

Actually, I had another DNP - Coach's Decision that I left with Mrs. Nrrrrvous. It shall be #58!

#58 - Innis and Gunn - Original BBA Scotch Ale

    6.6% ABV

A little lighter ABV than the "American" Wee Heavies but still a wonderful beer.

I had one of these for the VP but ended up leaving it with Mrs. Nrrrrvous since she's not coming home until tomorrow. (I'm a nice guy sometimes.) I'm guessing it's probably gone by this point in the evening.

That's going to require more research. I'll get back to you.

    Ha! Great minds!!

Someone tried to pass this off as an Irish beer during your VP several months ago. Mentioning no names.
