I just accidentally dropped $36 for a 330 mL beer at Stella called The Explorer from Anchorage Brewing. It's a stout that looked special on their instagram, so I put in a phone order to them without knowing the price. Whoops! I'm sure it will be very good, so no worries.

Lesson learned. I've never seen a bottle of beer there for more than about $20, and that is for the good big bombers. But I'll check prices before I buy from now on. Shhh - no beer-buying probation!
    Holy #$%$

I saw some Anchorage brews at that today in caged and corked 375 ml bottles (I think) and the owner said they're rather expensive. After hearing your report, I'm delighted I was not in the buying mood except for my $12 mini-growler .

Even thought InBev owns GI now, that's still a good beer but I'll bet it's been a decade since I had one. My guess would be about 7% ABV.

15% ABV per Stella’s rockin’ hot Insta account.

I remember thinking a variety pack of Saranac was pretty good back in the day. But that was compared to Bud Light and Milwaukee's Best (The Beast) that was free at West-Campus frat parties. Maybe Nan wanted to ban the frats for giving away such bad beer.
I've had a couple good Saranac beers but that's been 20+ years probably.

Nahh the 336 Location got shut down, but not before John Daly got thrown out of there.
Hope you didn't send him to our area.

Roowaka - Equilibrium - 8 % - DIPA with Riwaka (Ymm New Zealand) and Galaxy

Untappd does their review pretty well, so here it is...

"We started with a Fractal fermentation and grain bill. The hop schedule uses a Citra whirlpool before a heavy dry hop of Riwaka and Galaxy. Roowaka pours a straw milky yellow with an aroma of passionfruit, assorted citrus, earthy hay, grassland, and pinch of white pepper. The rollercoaster ride of flavor starts off with notes of earthy white pepper before being quickly transformed into pops of citrus, passionfruit, white grape with, melon, and a touch of berries. The juicy buildup continues before ending with a soft and creamy finish with a touch of bitterness."

Can't disagree with any of that. Devildeac inspired me to go Equilibrium to celebrate...

Low Category 3. Very very good DIPA
