If you make it to Augusta, I’ll thrash you in Wii tennis. Best offer I can make.

    #94 - First Frost - Fullsteam - Belgian Strong Dark Ale - 8.8 %

This might have been my favorite winter ale from 2020. It was much better than Cold Mountain which was good. First Frost has persimmons forward which provide natural holiday spice flavors of cinnamon and almost like an apricot. I used to eat fresh persimmons growing up, but you have to wait until they're fresh - after the first frost.

fuse reports that Fullsteam has many excellent brews, so I should try more. But this one deserves a spot on my list

If you make it to the 336, we'll play poker where I will likely lose. I'll provide double-oaked Woodford and a spare bed. Best offer I can make because I sure don't know how to play any kind of tennis.

Or we'll make it happen one day in Cherokee or Vegas

I loved this beer. Lots of flavor with a touch of nicely perceptible orange blossom honey. It's subtle, and not too sweet, not unlike Honey Ginger.
This beer absolutely blew me away.

Deal. I should be Second-Moderna-Plus-Two-Weeks by the end of April. I suck at poker, easy fish. And a sloppy drunk.

My son has something else in mind for Augusta. If you can arrange, of course.

#95 - Black Oak - Red Oak Brewing - Unfiltered and Unpasteurized. Brewed with a blend of 8 malts.

Red Oak makes outstanding lagers. It's all they do. Did I mention I like Doppelbocks.

This is my bronze medalist in the winter ale category. ssA Over Tea Kettle and the SoPines Whatness/Whoness Euro Lager took gold & silver, respectively.

Last time I played there, Rick Pitino was in the foursome ahead of me. He is taller than you think. And — not as quick.

I’m anxiously awaiting dd’s review of this one.

Late April or May timing works great!

    Shuffle up and deal.

Beergoddess is letting me get a poker table! Don't have it yet, but hopefully by then. I'm almost as excited about it as I was the beer fridge in the garage.

So, each shot took somewhat more than 15 seconds?

I'll have to look for that Whatness/Whoness next year. Never tried that one

Happy to have the first party foul beer spill on the table. ‘Cause someone has to do it.

What's a good beer to wash down the taste of a grim slog of a hoops season?

And, I already know the answer will come back, "any"...
Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'

    And one.
The beer spills help the cards slide better across the felt. They give the table character and memories.
