Son of devildeac was also very highly impressed with Climbing the Ballmer Peak, thanks to RJ's purchases/trades/vivacious delivery service.

Agree about New Anthem On Cassette DIPA. Made with Citra, Mosaic, El Dorado, and Amarillo hops. Runs at 8.1% ABV. I’d guess IBU’s in the low 50’s. Nice and juicy, with some underlying pine. Well balanced and delicious. Another NA hit. Really good beer.

Had a nice Legend American Wheat and a good Aleworks (Williamsburg) Brown tonight sitting out on the patio at the local watering hole. 60 degrees was nice but after the sun set I was glad the heaters were still on.

Beer and weather in one post. Amazing.

I added 3 Wilmington Brewing Company pints to the 4 New Anthem and a pint can from Mad Mole, a new name to me. Bottle Rev had no other ILM brews.

This is actually not bad at all. Needs a little longer, still not fully carbonated. Getting there!

That's your other half's American Amber, correct? Or is that the pale ale? So many recipes being considered/brewed.

That would be the pale ale.

American Amber is still in the planning phases

Wait, maybe this cobbler post should be in the proper thread (nah, that'd be crazietalk):

"Mamaw's Mean Cobbler-Hardywood Park Craft Brewery

Local, for certain special people .

Credit-accfanfrom1970; thanks!! (fuse got the Mamaw's Blackberry Cobbler, an "enhanced" version of their Virginia Blackberry witbier)
Style-spiced and fruited Belgian style tripel (not brewed by monks )
    Pouring vessel-16 ounce can
Receiving vessel-why, a lovely Hardywood teku from the 2019 GBS Complete Set package
Appearance-hazy yellow orange with a thick, creamy head (almost like the ice cream with which it *could* be served)
    Nose-homemade peach pie/cobbler (not toaster/oven required)
    Mouthfeel-fruity
Tastes-"millions of peaches, peaches for me;" cinnamon, vanilla, pie crust; not sure about the coconut; a bit on the sweet side
Adjuncts-cinnamon, vanilla, coconut, peaches (d'oh!) and lactose
    IBU-20ish
ABV-8.2% (booze in a baking dish)
Overall impression-"movin' to the country I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches;" just like (somebody's) Mamaw used to make
Ymm, Beer rating-low cat 3; quite a fun beer and good every two or three years; fuse also got the Cuvée Peach, their Peach Triple aged in wine barrels

As I said, I'm soooo confused. Didn't look like an amber.

A cobbler wannabe from July, 2020:

    "Space Trash-New Grass Brewing Comapny

I don't have much to add to these two fine assessments except: 1) a sincere thank you to RJ199 and the beergoddess for selecting/sharing/delivering and 2) the lactose, marshmallow and vanilla also made me think of a cobbler/milkshake/sundae and 3) this coulda been a Veil or Vasen beer from Richmond. High praise. Low/mid cat 3."

Made me think of a cobbler a bit over 2 years ago:

    "Speaking of...

    Dead and Berried-Foothills Brewing

Completing the Winston-Salem brewery "affair" was this bomber that was obtained at the above-mentioned joint .

Pour was even darker that the above review with an even thinner head. Three of us also shared this bomber. There were no coffee aromas but dark chocolate and dark berries were present. Silky/smooth mouthfeel with a hint of coffee (not added) but robust semi-sweet chocolate, black strap molasses and blackberries (added) were quite prominent along with the expected bourbon notes, all of which became more flavorful during our 30 minute sipping. A tad less bitter at 62 IBUs (not a really perceptible difference) with the ABV a bit higher at 10.5%. A liquid blackberry cobbler with fudge sundae topping and a tablespoon of booze drizzled over it?

Many thanks to Tripping William for the delivery/meet-up, risking his reputation *and* life in the process!"

    Haha.

It does look noticeably darker than it did a couple of days ago when the first sample was poured from the keg.

    From a tailgate in 2018:

"Continuing on with the heart of the order, accfanfrom1970 stepped to the plate, err, table with:

Blackberry Cobbler (pint can)-Hardywood Craft Brewery

He brought local to us!! Thanks!

This beer is not to be found on their website and fooled me, thinking it was last year's Virginia Blackberry witbier but it wasn't.

I didn't "study" the can for any stats/ingredients but the pour was a cloudy lavender (no chunks!) with a smallish, fizzy head. Pretty much all (who were still standing at this point) agreed that the aromas and tastes were pretty spot-on for a blackberry (blackbeery?) cobbler with grains and fruits prominent with a mild sweetness on the palate. I don't think any oats and/or lactose were added but the mouthfeel was smooth and silky and an almost milky/creamy flavor, too. I'll guess IBUs of 20 and the ABV was 6.8% so a cobbler in a glass.

I'd certainly buy a draft, single or 4 pack of this to sip, share and/or trade."
