Hmm, I'm a Wise Man now but I'll have to see if I'm able to find some Sunshine Dust for a nightcap.

Teed it up last night. Gimme about an hour for a walk with my wife now and will try to circle back on this before 930 PM tonight.

    (spoiler-very enjoyable )

Wish I could help there but I'm 0/5 on that list. All local beers?

Best IPA I have ever had. High alcohol content yet impossibly smooth and drinkable. Notes of citrus. Very hazy. Was at one point considered one of the hardest beers to find because of limited, local release confined to Lafayette, LA area (literally took me 3 years to find it). I can find it all over the gulf coast now.

Hmmm, perhaps you can mule some to one of the locals in the 336 for their sipping pleasure.

You're a good fellow. I'm always interested in learning about new beers, whether they're available in the 919 or not (I do accept deliveries and have been known on an occasion or ten to drive a pick up a package of tasty liquids in another area/postal code. )

Irish Red Ale it is. Building a recipe now. Hoping this will be a beer that can be served out on the deck in a couple of months.

Sometime in the last few days (late last week?), OPK was bribed (with mashed something or other), err, graciously volunteered to host on Saturday, February 27 with the topic being Ymm, Beer Lampoon's Destination Vacation. I'll let him re-post the particulars.

    From last PM:

    Red Wolf-Four Saints Brewing

    Local enough

    Credit-Tripping William; thanks!!
    Style-red IPA
    Format-pint can
    Serving vessel-standard pint glass
    Appearance-clean/clear amber/red; modest, foamy head
    Nose-berry, toasted wheat, orange
    Mouthfeel-mild, piney bite
Tastes-damn if this doesn't remind me of 21st Amendment's Toaster Pastry with strawberry, orange, biscuit and a bit of resin
    IBU-45
    ABV-6.2%
    Pairing-spicy southwest chicken salad
Overall impression-not many of these on the market and I rather enjoyed it and got lucky with the pairing
Ymm, Beer rating-upper cat 2, scoring a couple extra points on creativity and its 10% contribution to the real NC Zoo (an not the jackarses in chappaheeya)

Going a bit out of order here because it is Nrrrrvous' birthday and he traded this during our last meet-up AND claims he sipped one tonight to celebrate:

tasted like sunshine dust-The Answer Brewpub

    Local for him

    Credit-^^^^; pay attention here! (thanks!!)
    Style-DIPA
    Delivery container-pint can
    Finishing vessel-snifter
Appearance-light copper; moderate, creamy head after an aggressive pour
    Nose-strong grapefruit and orange
    Mouthfeel-moderate bite
Tastes-grapefruit juice and rind, OJ and rind, orange liqueur, pine, honey
Hops-Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe; great combination
    IBU-gotta be 60 to 70
    ABV-8.5%
Overall impression-reminds me a lot of DFH 90 Minute IPA which I probably haven't sipped in 5 years since a tailgate; high compliment
Ymm, Beer rating-low cat 3; it's clean, citrusy, slightly sweet, moderately bitter and has a wonderful variety of hops; Happy Birthday, indeed

Yup. Bring beers from where you wish you could be on vacation if things were “normal.” Foreign, domestic, wherever. Or, a beer that reminds you of such a place.

    COVID Getaway Day!

    Very cool! Love it.

Hopefully I can find cans of Pilsner Urquell so that I can daydream of the Prague trip that was supposed to happen last Spring.

A favorite returns - delivery today, consumption Sunday as soon as I get off work...Ardent -
    Barrel Aged Defenestrator 32oz Crowler

We took this doppelbock collaboration with our friends from The Cask Cafe and further lagered it for 10 months in bourbon barrels. Barrel Aged Defenestrator maintains the same malty base and stone fruit character as the original, adds some extra bourbon aroma and oaky flavor, and still remains a balanced beer. 10.4% ABV • 22 IBU
