Man, it just packs on the pounds with me.
For me, it's walking. Lots and lots of walking. And keeping the snacking to small portions and infrequent occasions. Don't wanna get sloppy.

I was doing really well when the weather was nicer, it's been harder this winter. Mostly walking/jogging.

I also don't do a lot of sweets. Beer is usually my reward, instead of that piece of cake/cookies/brownie/etc.

I give up all alcohol the first week of January until I get down to my target weight. Then, I drink myself back out of shape the rest of the year.

    Truth.

And I walk/hike something like 10-15 miles a weekend, weather permitting.

You're lucky you don't like stouts/porters as they pair quite nicely with brownies and/or chocolate chip cookies. And German Chocolate Cake. And Triple Chocolate Cake. And...

This, plus carrying a bag full of clubs & balls, and twisting my torso some 100 times over the course of 4.5 hours ...

Took my last ride on Satan's Imperial Pony tonight. Quite a creation with a lot more bourbon than I remember, even after only 2 months of barrel aging. Plenty of dark caramel along with some vanilla and coconut notes, too. Thanks again to Nrrrrvous.

Avoid a snack in exchange for a beer. Exercise a lot when we can.

Or having devildeac's perpetual locomotion metabolism is a plus. Nahh he exercises a lot and eats extremely healthy, good food (exquisitely paired with beer)

Let's see what might be good from this article to advertise for DinK's VP on January 30:

    https://www.foodandwine.com/beer/best-barrel-aged-beers

Haven't read the article yet but I'll guess there's an assortment of different kinds of barrel aging.

Mostly healthy foods. There are some snacks and "junk" but lesser quantities than in years/decades past. Exercise has certainly increased, especially when our "empty nest" hobby/past-time essentially disappeared about 10 months ago with COVID.

Barrel-Aged Narwal stepping to the plate at 11.9% ABV. Hoping for a trip to the big (ABV) leagues with accfan sometime soon.
