Perhaps I can't handle bigger, stronger, quicker high gravity beers...

You’re gonna be in trouble tomorrow, then. 🙄🤣

    From the weekend.

A tip of the snifter to dpslaw if he's still reading here for this suggestion.

Pour was a 12 ounce bottle into a Founders snifter. Darn near perfect I might add . Two-fingered head and a slightly hazy golden-yellow color. Smells like a barleywine with some orange, zest, leather and a bit of tobacco. Tastes a bit like a barleywine, too, but it's not. There's grapefruit, more orange, oil, and wait, what else is coming through now? Is that vanilla and oak and bourbon? Why, yes, it is! It's not a barleywine. This is a bourbon barrel-aged imperial IPA. In fact, according to the Founder's rep last month at a Bottle Rev tasting, it's the old Double Trouble recipe, which I haven't had since 1/18/10, that's been sitting in booze barrels for a year or so. I'll guess 80 IBUs, superbly balanced with an ABV of 12.4%. Not cheap at about $4/12 ounce bottle but reasonably priced. I've got 3 more from my 4 pack awaiting decisions: aging? trading? tailgating? Hmmm...
Here's that BBA Founders DIPA. I shoulda remembered the name.

    From last PM, another preview:

    wee heavy-Zaftig Brewing Company

About 5 miles from local when purchased.

Credit-another opportunity to fill a spot in the 4 pack carriers with an Ohio beer for trading.
    Style-whaddaya think?
    Format-12 ounce can
    Stemware-snifter
Appearance-dark brown with a generous tan head
    Nose-toasted bread and syrup
    Mouthfeel-soft
Tastes-toffee, medium/dark caramel, hint of peat/smoke, herbal hops
    IBU-might be 30
    ABV-10% (? imperial Scotch ale)
Overall impression-malt bomb; good take on the style
Ymm, Beer rating-upper shelf cat 2; our son thinks the BBA version is even better and I'd be interested in tasting...

    Exotic Matter-R. Shea Brewing

Two hours from local (Akron) when bought.

Credit-still filling up my empty trading places
Style-fruited NEDIPA milkshake IPA (sorry I can't get one of these to killerleft)
Format-a bit smaller than a Texas size 19.2 ounce tall, tall boy
    Stemware-Hardywood teku
Appearance-hazy fuchsia with a slightly pinkish, foamy topping
    Nose-berries
Mouthfeel-a bit tart, a bit sweet; juicy
Tastes-a raspberry Sweetart smoothie; some lemon and orange
    Adjuncts-lactose, raspberries
    IBU-26
    ABV-8.5% (whoa, a boozeshake )
Overall impression-they pulled it off fairly well; would be an interesting side by side with Gizmo Brew Works raspberry milkshake IPA (?DIPA), likely retired
Ymm, Beer rating-high cat 2; I think the recipients will enjoy this but not at Veil level

    No, they’ll be gone!

But give me a buzz when you are about 2 hours out, they’ll be a fresh batch on the cooling rack when you pull in.
