No thirst this AM but the journey will be (kinda) long today...

Checking inventory - yep, got the BBA Raspberry Stout 2019, 750ml bottle. We can talk

Wise Man Brewing Liquid Measure Key Lime IPA

It’s as though a Conceited Genius hooked up with a gal in a Bright ssA Tank Top. Citra and Motueka hops add the bitterness that gets to 55 IBU’s. Key lime throughout the underlying, mouthwatering citrus. Even the color is like a dark’ish version of key lime pie. Another hit from WMB; this is awesome.

    2020 Cold Mountain (Highland Brewing)

One of my singles from Stella. This had a cult following a few years back. It remains a terrific winter ale. Hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Really smooth drinking. Feeling like I shoulda grabbed the sixer.

Citrus Honey Saison from Fine Creek

First impression - Not my fave so far from Fine Creek but a solid saison.

    More later.

    Ymmmmmm ...
I scored a four-pack of 16 oz. Hardywood Gingerbread Stout in cans and another of Hardywood Christmas Pancakes at the Trader Joe's in Greensboro today. Didn't expect to see them there.

Man, if your Mom made you wear that color when you were a baby, and you're still wearing it, it's time to grow up!

Had mine tonight too. Strong Category 2. Loved the vanilla and subtle spices. Could drink this all winter.

But the Fullsteam First Frost was even a little better.

Bedtime, so reviewing quickly -- lots of beers from Stella worth seeking out!

KBS - Maple Mackinac Fudge - Mid Cat 3. Coffee stout with more coffee and fudge than maple. World class. Get a 4 pack.

Burial - Tonin the Librarian West Coast IPA - Don't be scared by the West Coast - Cat 3 and simply outstanding. Burial doing what they do well. Get a 4 pack.

Burial - Both Ways - Imperial Pale Lager - Fun Experiment works surprisingly well. High Cat 2 - Motueka and Mosaic I think with NICE Pilsner yeast. Try a Single. Very Good.

First Frost - Fullsteam - Low Cat 3.

Wise Man - Always Improvising - Low Cat 3. Like a Much better version of Soft and Sublime. - Mango and hops with expert balancing and full flavor. Get a 4 pack.

Stella on fire this weekend - I loved every beer I had.

Hmm, a Key Lime IPA. Not sure I've ever heard of one.

That's a wonderful winter beer. Darn shame they don't package some of the variants that I've heard about but never tasted.

I saw both of those at Bottle Rev Lake Boone Trail a couple weeks ago and decided to wait for my 2020 GBS Complete Set net month that includes two of each of those. If you decide you don't like one/either/both of what you bought, I'm available...

I have this feeling that you will greatly enjoy both of those as they are outstanding products.

    Pernicious-Wicked Weed

    Previously reviewed.

Still a good beer even if this 12 ounce can pilfered from older daughter a couple weeks ago (partial dog-sitting fee) was canned in January, 2020 and recommended best by March, 2020.

    Posted for a friend:

    "Isley Brewing Company
    Choosy Mother Peanut Butter Porter

Gosh, do I enjoy a reeses peanut butter cup.
Sweet Baby Jesus by DuClaw is the benchmark.

    Super peanut butter nose.

A thin layer of fudge gives way to a bit of sour(?) peanut butter.

Intriguing. Grabbed a couple pita chips to insure palate fatigue not a factor.

Almost like a chocolate peanut butter and jelly- there is some sour cherry interwoven somehow.

Would make an interesting competitor to SBJ in a side by side comparison."

Just so happens there are 2 sips of this remaining in my glass now. More later...

Might have to get RJ199 to watch a Hallmark movie with this beer:

"Barrel Aged Cookie Doh! Stout - Russian Imperial

    • 11% ABV

    • Southern Range Brewing Co.

    • Monroe, NC

Bourbon barrel version of Cookie Doh"
