Red Oak Brewery beverages *might* be easier to find across the state.

    From last PM:

Beautiful Nonsense (draft)-Flying Machine Brewing Company

    Kinda local

Credit-yesterday was National (International?) Stout day, it was on tap and mpj96 (?) recently mentioned this brewery so why not/
    Style-flavored imperial stout
    Format-half pint plastic cup ()
Appearance-dark, dark brown with a smallish tan head
    Nose ticklers-lotsa chocolate
Mouthfeel-smooth but a bit thin for the style
Tastes-plenty of milk chocolate, a bit nutty, vanilla, dark fruit
Adjuncts-triple chocolatized (milk, white, dark), hazlenuts (I really kinda missed this), cacao
    IBU-maybe 50
    ABV-13% (waaaaay too easy sipping)
Overall impression-very good but thin; could have had a bit more hazlenuttiness
Ymm, Beer rating-high cat 2; not quite good enough for another crowded stadium

Best I could do because there are no Dire Wolfs (sic) or Wolf Ridge(s) of London to preview my second stout from last PM.

I actually had half a bomber of a rare/brewery only variant release of this.

Damn, would have like to have been there to beg a few draws . . . .

Having one of the recently procured Goose Island Bourbon Country stouts...promise I won’t get to your three

    World class.

The one I had was Port Barrel-Aged Dire Wolf. I'll post a review later. Playing with a couple of the grandkiddies now.

Open invitation; an empty glass is all that's required and I have plenty of those; no begging required. The brewery is Wolf's Ridge in Columbus, OH, and they brew some fabulous beers. Might be the best brewery in Ohio but accfanfrom1970 might "beg to differ."

You're a fine fellow and I'll tell that to your wife, too, though I know she knows better because you told me so already.

Day late. Blue Mountain 2017 Dark Hollow BBA Imperial Stout

Procured a couple of years ago on a trip to C’ville. Has been laying down since then. Dark as night. Medium mocha head. Smoooooooth. Some coffee notes. Hint of wood. 10+% ABV and 70 IBUs. Delicious beer. Worth the patience in letting it age.
"Amazing what a minute can do."

That sounds amazing. Their sampler/flight several years ago with lunch was very good and the limited # of their barrel-aged creations that I've sampled have been outstanding.

Damn, I thought I'd convinced you Wolf's Ridge was better with those Dire Wolf Magellan variants I traded.

The mouthfeel is just a smidge thin, but that’s merely a nit to pick. A very, very good beer.

The 20 or so JackieO’s barrel aged variants still out weigh those three excellent Wolf Ridge offerings. Still time though. Will be in Columbus around the Xmas holiday and will be buying...

Ha! I thought the same thing about Beautiful Nonsense (13% ABV) reviewed today from a half pint draft last PM yet, I still enjoyed it quite a bit.

Darn shame there's no tailgating this year as I have about a half a dozen more Dire Wolf variants I could share.

Not sure where you'll be in Columbus and I know of no other bottle shops except Kenny Road Market but they always have a great selection.
