I have nothing new to review. But in the name of beer drinking and padding posts I can offer the following -

Father’s Day weekend, consumed Ardent’s honey ginger and Hardywood’s BBA Cru. Purchased Saturday and consumed Sunday - maw maw’s peach cobbler and bubba’s blackberry cobbler, annual offerings from Hardywood.

Also up last night - Boulevard’s rye-on-rye and the Guinness BBA Stout.

Nothing new but cat 2-3 beers all.

Still wish I had a New Glarus.

I’m able to help with that. As many beers as you’ve muled for me, I am more than delighted to put aside some of my recent New Glarus delivery for you. Dead serious with that offer.

Jackie O’s Covert Reality

Another beer where the nose does not lie.

Pineapple, orange, tropical fruit salad waft from the glass.

Orange pith almost dank bitter to start.
Tart lemon, with a hoppy bitter finish.

Format-12 ounce can
Freshness stuff-Canned X 06-02-20 08:41 (fresh, indeed!)
Drinking vessel-snifter
Appearance-hazy tropical juice blend
Scents-exactly as fuse posted
Mouthfeel-juicy
Tastes-maybe a splash of peach and melon in addition to what fuse thought
Hops-Azacca, Citra and Simcoe (wonderful hops individually, even better in this combo)
IBU-gotta be 60+
ABV-8.5% (wait, is this a tropical fruit juice, beer or a grain alcohol smoothie?)
Overall impression-not only does Jackie O's release great barrel aged high ABV stuff, I'm quickly impressed by this offering
Ymm, Beer rating-low cat 3; maybe not in the Veil/Burial league but pretty damned close; happy to have one left which I'll savor; great pick up by our son

Very local!

Credit-keen eyes on Bottle Rev's tap list yesterday as a featured brewery with a $10 mini growler
Style-farmhouse ale, aka a saison
Format-32 ounce growler divided over 2 nights
Stemware-Gouden Carolus chalice
Appearance-pear nectar; modest, off white head
Nose-mildly tart/sour apples and not quite ripe pears
Mouthfeel-fruity with a slight bite
Tastes-apples and pears as above with a small splash of OJ and hints of peach with a black peppery/Belgian yeasty finish
IBU-maybe 20
ABV-4.7%
Overall impression-their rep has likely taken a hit but their beers remain excellent
Ymm, Beer rating-low cat 3; paired nicely with a grilled chicken club sammich last PM and a small kale salad

Spent part of another evening with Ella last PM. Second night from a mini growler was still fresh and very comparable to the first pint. Paired very well with a homemade (cold; leftover) salmon Caesar salad.

Bottle Rev said they were donating all proceeds from the sale of this keg to one of the women's shelters in town given the recent events surrounding Brewery Bhavana. Easy to buy/support with that intent on their part.

Fantastic. Outstanding. Delicious. Wish I had the Alter Ego to compare it to, but I'll take what I can get. Pour is on the darker side for an IPA and thoroughly hazy. Bursting with flavor. Far too easy to drink at 8.2%. Sad to see it go.
