Wow- when richardjackson199 and beergoddess deliver, they deliver.

As noted by mattman during Saturday’s virtual pub, the canning date is 5/21.
    Fresh!!!!

Just cracking the can open I got hit with a wave of pineapple juice.

Solid pour with a dense head.

    Nose is lemon and pineapple.

Orange pith bitterness is followed by pineapple and finishes off super dry, almost like a brut IPA.

I’m with mattman and richardjackson- this is a tasty, tasty beer.
    Going to savour the rest.

Cheers and major thanks beergoddess and richardjackson199!!!

Late to the Genius party but here goes; from last PM:

    Conceited Genius 2.0-Wise Man Brewing

Local for a couple Ymm, Beer regulars and close enough for me

Credit-RJ199, another Wise Man; many thanks!!
    Style-NEIPA
    Temporary residence-16 ounce alloy
Canned on-05/21/2020 16:03:26; I think I've had one fresher canned beer in all my years; fresherer is betterer
    Stemware-Stella snifter, of course
Appearance-hazy Dole or DelMonte juices; foamy head
    Aromas-was this stuff just squeezed?
    Mouthfeel-somewhat thick and juicy
Tastes-pineapple, mango, tangerine, lemon and orange rind/juice/pulp
    Hops-Citra and Motueka (dry hopped)
IBU-80 (somewhat surprising); a bit high for the style
ABV-6.1% (also a bit surprising); a bit low for the style
Overall impression-I've already picked my small nits with the IBU and ABV, otherwise, this is a fine example of the style
Ymm, Beer rating-low cat 3; I've had juicier/thicker NEIPAs but this was a very, very pleasant nightcap and would readily buy again

Agree 100%. Also thought the IBUs were high for the style, but didn't drink that way. Also packed a ton of flavor for a relatively low ABV. Great beer.

With two of each. #10, Barleywine aged in Woodford Reserve double oaked bourbon barrels, mixed with their imperial stout aged in Copper Fox Pot distilled single malt whiskey barrels. 11.4%. Unbelievable, great beer, a smokiness that was a great finish after the hint of chocolate and bourbon.

Then I opened #11. Imperial milk stout aged in grape brandy barrels mixed with Belgian quadruple aged in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. Smoother, a little sweeter. Almost as good as #10. Looking at cat #3 and cat 3++.

$20 a four pack and well worth it. Really special.
Wow. Reads amazing. Virginia beer is so legit. Enjoy every one of those!

That's an excellent point and I agree. It wasn't piney/resiny bitter but fruity/rindy/pithy bitter, like a hazy/juicy/NE IPA should be. The freshness was amazing. Reminded me of the Hubris I drank fresh on release day last year at Lynnwood Brewing Concern and bought a 4 pack of cans that were packaged one day earlier.

The Hardywood Family Tree membership sounds even better than the Brewery Bhavana Cellar Door plan .

I'm on call this weekend so you folks enjoy your tastings. RJ199's recent treasure trove delivery will be on the endangered list starting Monday evening.

I believe he chose milkshake IPAs, or, more specifically, Mrs. killerleft chose the style. He may have modified it a bit to any fruited beer/IPA as milkshake IPAs may be a bit difficult to find. He has not chosen a date yet. I'd bet a tartlet (not a whole pie) that his opening time will be "sometime that morning" to accommodate Tripping William's motto .

I had that Commonwealth Intergalactic DIPA last night. 8.7% ABV is well hidden, so I def stopped after 1. It drinks like a session beer, but it's not! I love the Galaxy hop bomb which just seemed to get fresher and more pronounced the more I had. Maybe it gets even better as it warms a little. The white wine white grape notes work well in this earthy IPA. It's West-coast bitter but in a very good way for the style; it's smooth. The tropical fruit is more on the finish which balances beautifully. So it's a little different but Matt at Stella was right, this brewery is legit.
