    Credit: accfanfrom1970; thanks!!
    Format: pint aluminum vessel
Style: BBA imperial stout (damn, another DNP-CD for thedukelamere's Virtual Pub this month)
    Stemware-snifter
Appearance-dark, dark brown with a moderate beige head
    Nose-dark chocolate and booze
Mouthfeel-a bit thin but pretty slippery
Tastes-round up the usual suspects including semisweet chocolate, molasses, dark caramel and a late, warm bourbon finish
    IBU-probably 60
ABV-11% (took me over an pour to finish this one)
Overall impression-very good in another field that's getting rather full
Ymm, Beer rating-top shelf and center cat 2; the "thinness" and somewhat subtle bourbon presence knocks it off the cat 3 shelf; I'd sip again

    Might be local

Credit-another wayward member of the 6er trader I got after Christmas from a neighbor
    Format-as always, since 1981, a 12 ounce bottle
    Style-fresh hop IPA
    Freshness stuff-PKGD on 10/25/19 1954
    Stemware-pint glass
    Appearance-clean, orange amber
    Nose-pine and resin
    Mouthfeel-almost bracingly bitter and oily/chewy
Tastes-pine, resin, hints of citrus rind and light caramel
    Malts-Two row Pale, Caramelized malts
Hops-all C hops with Cascade, Centennial, Chinook (shocked, I say shocked )
    IBU-65
    ABV-6.8%
Overall impression-very good example of a classic west coast IPA
Ymm, Beer rating-high cat 2, even though I've been tired of the style for a few years; if you've never had one, it's worth a try

    It does sound interesting:

"Seven moist, decadent carrot cakes from Arnie’s Bakery were added to the mash to lend Carrot Cake Cream Ale a delectable dose of authentic, locally-baked cake flavor. The sheet cakes were made with fresh shredded carrots, crushed pineapple, raisins, cake flour and eggs, and topped with whipped cream cheese icing."

Opened one of two Veil Hollow Place Oreo bottles. Bought November 2019, so aged a bit. This is an imperial stout conditioned on a “silly amount of Oreo cookies.” It is silky and smooth and 10.5% abv. You really taste the cookie part of the Oreo, a hint of sweetness that I guess could be the cream filling, but mostly it’s the cookie. And it’s a good cookie, and this is coming from someone who worked at the Nabisco bakery in Richmond where all the double stuffs are made. I ate a lot of Oreos .

Veil does the hollow place in a variety of flavors, most recently coconut I believe. This is an excellent stout, cat 3, but not cheap. $20 for 16.5 oz. Will be saving the 2nd for a special occasion. There is probably more info on the bottle but I can’t read it even with a magnifying glass.

A long time since I have had one of these. A really solid dry stout. Malty and chocolately up front. Dryness on the finish. A solid Cat 2 beer. I’d never turn this one down.

I admit, regardless of how I feel after the fact, gimmick/unique beers are fun. This one sounds tasty.
