The Abyss (2016)-Deschutes Brewing Company
Not local
Five ounce pour before the pub closes.
Not enough time or volume to comment fully.
Will revisit in more volume and detail tomorrow night.
Old Fashioned-Anderson Valley Brewing Company
"Ball hornin' since 1987"
Obviously, not local
Credit-keen eyes and a good credit card
Format 12 ounce can
Style-Wild Turkey BBA flavored brown ale
Stemware-highball glass, old fashioned, of course
Appearance-muddy; modest tan head
Aromas-smells like the cocktail
Mouthfeel-smooth
Tastes-booze first, then nutty; cherries; surprising bitterness, but not unpalatable
Malts-Pale Two-Row, Crystal (80L), Oats, Midnight Wheat, Munich
Hops-Magnum, Hersbrucker
Adjuncts-cherry puree; orange peel; bitters
IBU-45
ABV-8.3%
Overall impression-nice beer cocktail; I think the Haw River and Southern Tier Old Fashioned were better
Ymm Beer rating-high cat 2; worth a single/taste

Dukelamere, you put together a great lineup and some excellent pictures for BBA virtual pub. Thanks for hosting!
Everyone else, thanks for sharing- definitely yesterday was a good day for enjoying fun beer.
Basketball games, like beer, are transient experiences 😀
On topic for the board, maybe off topic for the thread, there are lots of coachable moments.
Need to get off to a better start, need to play tough/be strong with the ball, and need to learn how to finish. I’m strangely ok with taking lumps now for potential dividends in March.
Echoing the comments/thanks above to thedukelamere for hosting a very enjoyable Virtual Pub yesterday. Looking forward to his nomination/suggestion for next month's event...

A day late for Virtual Pub, but had 2019 BBA Silent Night last night. Strong Cat 3 beer. The bourbon influences felt a little more restrained than in some BBA imperial stouts, but I haven’t done a side-by-side in a while, so I could just be making that up. Terrific beverage from Mother Earth.
"Amazing what a minute can do."
Shiner Cheer holiday ale
This *is* a holiday weekend after all, and I had a can of this laying around. Drank it from the can, so no comment on color, head, nose, etc. On the sweet side and tastes a little like apple juice (in a good way). Without knowing it was an ale, it could probably pass for a hard cider. Low Cat 2; good to do once.

*Peeks head in* Hey, uhmm, is the pub still open by chance?
Didn't get around to posting on Saturday, but I did enjoy some barrel aged brews.
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale - Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Coffee Stout - Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company.
Both were Christmas gifts I already had sitting in the fridge so I didn't have to run out and buy anything.
In hindsight, perhaps drinking a beer brewed in Kentucky was a bad choice for Saturday. My apologies.
