I wish I could say I was on a beer-crawl with Mattman in SC, and the dog ate my reviews. Or that I was dry January on purpose (nope).
But we're short-staffed at work, and I may be kinda absent until March or so. I haven't been to Stella since September. But I'll be back and drop in whenever I can! So drink some for me too
What was in your glass when history was made? 👀
Going to have to preview some barrel aged beers during the week to celebrate the Tigers win yesterday and then share on Saturday as thedukelamere hosts January's edition of the Virtual Pub.

A really solid expression of the DIPA style. Golden brown color, fairly thick off-white head that lingers a long time. More pine & resin than anything. A hint of caramel to my palate. 12% ABV. I’m guessing IBUs I
in the 80s. Mid Cat 2.
"Amazing what a minute can do."
I almost burnt out the motor on my beer fridge trying to making such a historic decision...
Since Christmas came super early (or extremely late), I went with Santa's Private Reserve Ale (2019) - 8.1% ABV Strong Ale - Rogue Ales. Malty aroma, maple profile with a slightly bitter finish, it paired well with a Demon Deacon woodshed beating.
I've already gone through my collection and picked out my first three beers for the virtual pub on Saturday, as well as situational selections to crack depending on the flow of the game... I used my last Dragon's Milk Reserve: Toasted Chiles during The Comeback last season, so I don't really have a gameplan if we go down by 23 in the 2nd half. Let's try to avoid that.
Wildflower-Natty Greene's Brewing Company (brewed and bottled by 638 Brewing Company in Winston-Salem*)
Credit-member of a mixed 6er trader from a neighbor last week; thanks!
Format-12 ounce bottle
Style-witbier with additives
Glassware-Sam Adams White Ale glass
Appearance-light straw; smallish head
Scents-orange, coriander, flowers
Mouthfeel-a bit tingly
Tastes-orange, flowers, light caramel
Adjuncts-orange peel, coriander, chamomile
IBU-probably 20
ABV-4.5%
Overall rating-a decent porch pounder for an almost 70 degree winter night
Ymm, Beer rating-low cat 2; wouldn't search out but a pleasant, palatable ale which was not expected given the brewery
Question for Tripping William and/or RJ199: Do either/both of you know much/anything about 638 Brewing?

Yea, one of these, but, you'll have to wait until thedukelamere hosts the Virtual Pub on Saturday to read about it...

I went straight bourbon rather than BBA. Maker's Cask Strength.
I then drunkenly decided to design a logo for our group to unveil on Saturday at the virtual pub... I've been rewatching Sons of Anarchy and the idea of us having BrewDevil chapters across the country sounded pretty badass in my bourbon brain.

Is it gray that is a problem? Or Black? Which blue, Pantone 280/287/289?
Cool idea, can’t wait to see it.
