    (1) Their next Craft Happiness Project IPA is released today, called Equus. It's a "juicy IPA," the proceeds of which will go to help protect NC's wild horses.

    (2) BBA Sexual Chocolate 2019 gets released next weekend.

    (3) 2019 Dead & Berried** gets released October 25-26. (**NB: When OPK said, "You are what you drink," this beer came immediately to mind.)

    (4) 2019 Moravian Porter gets released on November 22nd (Black Friday).

    (5) I grabbed a sixer of their Oktoberfest for imbibing during next Saturday's DBR Virtual Pub Septemberfest.

    (6) They now have some beer in 19.2 ounce stovepipe cans, including Hoppyum, Thousand Smiles golden ale, and the Craft Happiness offering (starting with Equus).

    Cheers!
"Amazing what a minute can do."

Never seen one, Dead and Berried is a beer I definitely want to try.

This says published 9/11. Either it is eerily similar to a prior posted list, or the number one beer is throwing me off.

    Only 6/25.

Completing the Winston-Salem brewery "affair" was this bomber that was obtained at the above-mentioned joint .

Pour was even darker that the above review with an even thinner head. Three of us also shared this bomber. There were no coffee aromas but dark chocolate and dark berries were present. Silky/smooth mouthfeel with a hint of coffee (not added) but robust semi-sweet chocolate, black strap molasses and blackberries (added) were quite prominent along with the expected bourbon notes, all of which became more flavorful during our 30 minute sipping. A tad less bitter at 62 IBUs (not a really perceptible difference) with the ABV a bit higher at 10.5%. A liquid blackberry cobbler with fudge sundae topping and a tablespoon of booze drizzled over it?

Many thanks to Tripping William for the delivery/meet-up, risking his reputation *and* life in the process!

2017 Crooked Stave Brewery Bhavana Collab
    Reve Noir
Dark Sour Ale aged in Leopold Brothers Whiskey Barrels
    With Colorado Montmorency cherries
Finished in VSOP cognac and tawny port barrels
    8.7% ABV

    Minimal head, opaque black.

Smells like booze soaked cherries with a slightly sour note.

Oh am I gonna miss this when the glass is empty.

Incredibly tart a la sour patch kids
    Bright cherry sour patch kids.

    Highly acidic vinegar finish.

Unique beers are difficult to benchmark.
I’m a sucker for rare beer and one of a kind beer, which means I am naturally predisposed to rave about how awesome they are (just a different type of blue devil coloured glasses).

There is definitely some alcohol burn post sip on the throat.

As a novice whiskey consumer, a lot of the cognac/tawny port and Leopold brothers barrel aging significance is lost on me.

I’m going to continue to slowly savour each sip.

    Cheers all! 🍻

    When in Goldsboro

Goldsboro Brew Works (tap room and bottle shop) is terrific. Especially the bottle shop.

They also had Foothills Craft Happiness Raptorial on draft. I know, I know. I don’t need to go to Goldsboro to have what I can get just a few blocks from the office. But I hadn’t had it yet, didn’t have plans to get to the Fourth Street pub, so, there ya go. Nice & juicy. Solid balance of citrus and hops. Bright yellow & a smidge hazy. Very good beer.

Best beer name I saw tonight: SoPines Mosaic AF IPA. I literally (in all of Jim Sumner’s glory) LOL’d.

Thanks! Calendar marked. I'll try to get the BBA Sexual Chocolate and Dead & Berried which also sounds amazing. (I'll also try to pick up some orders.)

I really like Hoppyum too, and I'd bet anything Equus is great.

"This blackberry dark sour rested for 12 months in single-use Cabernet barrels..."

I'm not sure I need to post much more than that...

Large format bottle-750 ml-in 375 ml portions Wednesday and Thursday nights and I'm very sad it's all gone now.

I didn't get a bottle of Reve Noir from fuse from his membership but I am quite satisfied and delighted to have received one of these earlier this year from him. Thanks!!

Appearance-dark brown with edges of reddish-purple
Head-moderate; off-white and faintly purple; nice retention/Belgian lacing
Aromas-blackberry/cherry cider vinegar; pungent red wine
    Mouthfeel-tart and bubbly
Tastes-a cornucopia of deliciousness; tart/sour with many berries and cherries; vinegar; vinous; tannins; wet wood; dark fruits
    IBU-who cares
ABV-7% but punches at a much higher weight
    Overall impression-an outstanding concoction
Ymm, Beer rating-easily and unquestionably fuse Cat 3
Similar (?) beers-Black Currant Bam, Brett Raspberry Sour, Dark Swan, Black Sour, Darkest Hour, Brabant and Aunt Sally. They were all very, very good but this Brewery Bhavana beer was in another universe, therefore, another hearty thank you to fuse for sharing his extra bottle with me.

I will graciously/gratefully accept whatever y'all are able to purchase beyond your personal allotments of these two beverages as our son has placed an order for a bottle of each if available. Will have cash, check, freshly printed legal tender and/or traders for payment purposes on forthcoming meet-up. I realize the timing will not quite be right for the second one but I'm thinking we'll work out some sort of schedule over the next few weeks/months. I'll be in touch about the Veil order early next week.
