I've had one from OB at the brewery a few times, but I've never seen any on the retail market.
That was top 10-15 IIRC in a list of IPAs that fuse linked 6-12M ago from one of his "sources." Sadly, I've never had it .

No excuse. Didn't they open a brewery in Durham?

Sadly, the "no excuse" is indeed correct . Yes, they did open a huge facility in Durham last fall but don't think they had it on tap when we visited for their grand opening.

My pie will be on Tripping William (and his girl Stella) for this one when he's back in town, unless RJ199 sneaks in and snarfs up that brew and your sporks. However, I'll be the high odds guy as I'm headed to Bottle Rev to pick up my August beer club 4 pack after work today and, if it's in stock...

Hidden Springs Ale Works Tropic Thunder
Berliner Weiss with strawberry, pineapple, papaya, and mango

    Smells like strawberry and papaya.

    Clear gold in the glass.

Whoa, a fruit explosion in your mouth!
Layers of tart fruit- a hint of pineapple, a bit of mellow mango and papaya, largely dominated by strawberry.

Maybe not quite as awesome as Bears on a Rampage, an excellent beer on its own.

Grateful for a delivery from my Florida source.

    Cheers! 🍻

    Brewery Bhavana Jean

A very delightful saison with hibiscus and elderflower.
A perfect match for a delightful lunch at BB.

    Brewery Bhavana Elymus

I wish this beer description on the website mirrored the beer book at BB.

An incredibly light, complex, and balance sour that also complemented the food marvelously.

    Brewery Bhavana Phuong Saison

Named for the head of the flower shop, a saison made with lavender and green tea.

Thankful this was just a sample. While very tasty, it would be very difficult to drink a full ten or sixteen ounce pour of this beer due to the distinct flavour combination.

Oooh, oooh, (posted in my best 5 year old voice), I think I'm getting one of those from fuse's recent delivery .

Ok, I'm convinced after these 3 reviews that I'm headed to Bottle Rev after work today to pick up my August beer club 4 pack and have a half pint of their Strawberry Saison which was added to their tap list this AM.

Not a lavender fan, but sounds interesting.

It was really good. I just can’t see myself drinking it in volume.

Florida Avenue Passion of the Heights Hibiscus Wheat Ale

    Pours a pretty rose pink.

A nose I cannot describe other than to suggest intriguing in a fun and happy way.

Prior experience with hibiscus beer is that the scent and flavour is delicate and easily overwhelmed.

The dominant taste is cinnamon, and dominant is misleading as the whole beer is subtle.

I was scratching my head about this beer and what I might think about it ahead of tasting it, and I admit I was skeptical.

I’m quite pleased to have tried it, as I can’t think of any other beer quite like it.

This is one of the best aspects of trying new beer- finding a good surprise, and beers that surpass preconceived notions and expectations.

    Cheers all!

    A thoughtful gift.

    An ok Octoberfest.

    1-Clawhammer
    2- Sam Adams

Not sure if I have a top three for Octoberfests.
Maybe I can throw a bone Aviator’s way for Octoberbeast.

    Funny.

I'm breaking the "no beer during the week" rule for 2000s music bingo at Craft Centric, currently drinking a Clawhammer. Seems like these come out sooner every year!
