What better way to watch GA runoff results than with a Wisconsin Belgian Red?

Of course, last night’s rally was accompanied by Incendiary Shade of Lies.

Yep, that's it. Had two bottles and one remains. Remember it fondly. Very fondly.

I'm guessing you traded me one and I shared it with our son (maybe) and bought another bottle when I saw it at Tripping Wine shortly thereafter a couple years ago, maybe more.

Ha! Went to Wegman's today and saw it but passed as I still have my 2019 version cellared along with the "fresh" 2020 member of the GBS Complete Set. Fabulous beer.

BTW, welcome back to Ymm, Beer. Long time, no post.

Pretty sure I had, because I told you recently (in an offline exchange) that you would really like it. A terrific stout.

I have a 2019 and 2020 laying down side-by-side, which also happens to be how I want to sip them.

Likely true. Too many beers, so little memory.

Agreed that it's a great beer.

Hold that thought. Several Ymm, Beer members have several years of this from 2015-2020. We might be missing 2016 or 2017. Some SDDB chatter last month discussed a 5 or 6 year vertical at some point this spring or fall.

Went into Wegman's on the way home tonight to buy a gallon of milk for $1.49 and a dozen eggs at $0.69, their every day prices. Walked out with those two items and two 4 packs of Foothills Coffee-Infused BBA Sexual Chocolate at an additional cost of $23.98 (plus tax). Incorrigible. I'm going to blame Tripping William, RJ199 and he who shall not be named for making me aware of this special release.

    We won’t even charge a one-can finder’s fee ....

Very seldom do I see a release and think "I've got to get there as soon as possible", but yeah...

    From The Veil -
Tefnut Pineapple Orange Whip Swirl 4-Pack 16oz cans

    10% ABV

Tefnut Pineapple Orange Whip Swirl is a BRAND NEW Cosmic Imperial Gose in collaboration with @omnipollo brewed with tangerine and pineapple purée, orange juice, non-dairy vanilla soft serve, Madagascar vanilla beans, and vanilla salt. For each version of Tefnut we put our heads together with @omnipollo to reimagine what a fruit beer can be via new processes and fruit volumes. Tastes like straight up concentrated orange creamsicle ice cream bars, and pineapple Dole Whip.

I will be making plans to get to Richmond before the end of the week.

I know, right? I'm trying to figure out how much I can get into the house without Mrs. Nrrrrvous noticing!

And there's no purchase limit! I have a feeling this one won't last long.

Accfan raved about one of the previous Tefnut brews. I'm in for a can, a pair or a 4 pack if you're lucky enough to get some and share.

From Saturday night; Let's get ready to rummmmmmmbbbbbblllllle:

BBA Sexual Chocolate (special edition September 2017)-Foothills Brewing

Our neighbors in Winston-Salem are local.

Credit-pretty sure Tripping William picked this up at a Foothills dinner and extensive tasting 2 or 3 years ago; thanks!!
    Style-^^^^
    Format-bomber shared two ways
Stemware-if it's a Twin City brew, it's in Stella snifters
Appearance-really dark brown with a generous, creamy, latte head
    Nose-dark chocolate and bourbon
Mouthfeel-well, I guess sexual would be an apt descriptor
Taste-dark chocolate, bourbon, dark fruits, leather, tobacco, vanilla, wood char, molasses
    Adjunct-cocoa
IBU-75 (on the label; doesn't taste/feel that high)
    ABV-9.6% (seductive)
Overall impression-superb; I still think this is better than the BBA People's Porter but there's a big $$ gap, too
Ymm, Beer rating-mid/upper cat 3; such a wonderful sipper

    Oxbow Brewing - Arboreal

Arboreal is an American Sour Ale fermented in wooden bourbon barrels with Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus.

Acquired via trade with RJ. I think they are a bit $$ if you are buying them outright but that's what is great about trading! It all gets lost in the shuffle!

    8.5%

500ml bottle into a conical pint glass. (Boring, I know)

Pours a rusty/copper color with a 1/4" foam. Didn't last long. (The head or the beer!)

Extremely tart up front with possibly some hints of cherry/lemon/lime, puckeringly tart! But that quickly mellows out into a nice smooth, malty middle. Then finishes off with a nice, easy bit of booze, but not enough to detract from the tartness. Very well done!

What is interesting is that I thought I had "tired" of sour beers (excluding Veil, which are more fruity than sour, IMHO) after having gone a couple months without a really good one. Then, within the span of a week or two, I have 3 I think that remind me of how good they can be.

I would easily rate this a Cat 3. Oxbow is definitely on my radar now.

Thanks RJ, I can't remember what I traded, but whatever it was, I hope you enjoyed them as much as I have these!
So glad you enjoyed! I'm behind on reviews.
