You really taste the cookie part of the Oreo, a hint of sweetness that I guess could be the cream filling, but mostly it’s the cookie. And it’s a good cookie, and this is coming from someone who worked at the Nabisco bakery in Richmond where all the double stuffs are made. I ate a lot of Oreos .

Veil does the hollow place in a variety of flavors, most recently coconut I believe. This is an excellent stout, cat 3, but not cheap. $20 for 16.5 oz. Will be saving the 2nd for a special occasion. There is probably more info on the bottle but I can’t read it even with a magnifying glass.
Why does that not surprise me with The Veil.

    The beer sounds decadent!

    Pretty far away from local

Credit-beer #1 from devildeac2's Christmas mixed 6er gift to the Old Curmudgeon; thanks!!
Format-12 ounce bottle; the entire delicious bottle
    Style-flavored imperial stout
    Stemware-snifter
Appearance-darn near black; thin, tan head
    Nose-cinnamon and fudge
    Mouthfeel-10W30 or 20W50; not sure
Tastes-dark chocolate fudge generously swirled with cinnamon; hints of ginger; molasses; dark, dried fruits
    Adjuncts-cinnamon, ginger; maybe nutmeg
    IBU-60?
    ABV-13%; very, very dangerous
    Overall impression-outstanding combination of flavors
Ymm, Beer rating-middle to top shelf cat 3; worth the splurge, thinking $10+ for the small bottle

    Ich bin nicht local

Credit-a member of my January beer club 4 pack
    Format-11.2 ounce bottle
    Style-helles/lager
    Glassware-boring pint glass
Appearance-light straw color with a moderate, fizzy head
Nose-lots and lots of floral Euro hops
    Mouthfeel-light; bubbly
Tastes-mild floral bitterness, light corn syrup (no, it's NOT a domestic light beer)
    IBU-17
    ABV-5.7%
Overall impression-in its simplicity and German purity, this is a fantastic beer
Ymm, Beer rating-easy cat 3 and not many of this style get such a lofty rating; buy a bottle if you see one this month or next

    What an amazing nose.
Blindly I would never know this was not a glass of whisky or bourbon.

Rich, luscious chocolate gives way to toasty oak and a brilliant vanilla finish.

Would 100% recommend all the Prairie Artisan beer I have tried this month.
    I didn’t know what I was missing.
    🍻
I *think* we're posting about the same beer here:

Vanilla Noir-Prairie Artisan Ales (brewed and bottled by Krebs Brewing Co.)

    Still not local

Credit-beer #2 from son of devildeac's mixed 6er Christmas gift; thanks!!!!
    Format-12 ounce bottle
Style-whiskey barrel aged imperial stout with vanilla beans
    Stemware-snifter
    Appearance-minimally bubbling crude oil
    Nose-fuse is correct above
    Mouthfeel-viscous; chewy
Tastes-dark chocolate fudge; strong vanilla; warm, warm whiskey
    Adjuncts-above
    IBU-who cares
ABV-13.7%; boozy, but still frighteningly sippable
Overall impression-even better than Christmas Bomb from last PM
Ymm, Beer rating-fighting for top shelf, front/center cat 3; world class stuff; give yourself an assortment of Prairie Artisan Ales for (not teddy) Valentine's Day

I think their stout is so good the unique flavors just add to it. And if you like Oreo cookies this is decadent. The Lickinghole Creek Stout is much thinner and more grainy or roasty, so their unique stouts all taste the same to me.

Noir and Vanilla Noir are separate offerings. I was lucky enough to try both in December.
    They are frighteningly expensive beers.

As I've stated before, you're a Wise Man. Price ain't cheep, but, you will be pleased. Very pleased.

The bottle label claims only cinnamon added but my palate (and fuse's) believed ginger is included (but not Mary Ann ), too. Some beeradvocate reviews claim peppers are involved, also. I'll let/trust your taste sensors to make a final determination/rating.

Thanks for the clarification!! I'll check my Christmas gift mixed 6er and see if our son included both. I'm guessing they're $15ish for each 12 ounce bottle.

Memory fails me- at least ten, and probably over twelve per bottle is what I vaguely recall.

Tripping William quoted $10.99/12 ounce bottle up thread a bit-about what I expected. I think accfanfrom1970 quoted >$20 for some 500 ml bottles of some items at The Veil last month.

I had (and reviewed) one earlier this “winter,” so I’m gonna let these guys lay down a while.

    Big Boss Harvest Time

I purchased this around Christmas, but just opened this today (with near-60 temps, it felt a bit more like autumn). Quite good. Terrific spiciness. Bright orange-gold color. Very thick head (probably from the age). Solid Cat 2 beer.

PS: Did not make it over to Foothills today for SC release. May swing by the pub Monday or Tuesday.

Yes. But in January, it didn’t really taste much like pumpkin.
