Amazing. It’s like we’re, like, literally the same person.

    Boulevard BBA Belgian Quad

Another four-bagger from Brewer’s Kettle. Way foamy pour for a beer that is “best consumed by” sometime in 2021 (when college sports actually return). Muddy brown pour. A hint of coconut on the nose. Dark fruit and wood flavors. Dangerously smooth at 11.5% ABV. Easily Cat 3. Happy to share one of my three remaining bottles with my dd self.

Amazing how our great mind thinks alike. It was fabulous in a Sexual Chocolate teku glass.

    From last PM; really:

Golden Milk Stout (in smaller print, aka as Spiced Blonde Stout)-Haw River Farmhouse Ales

Credit-a timely birthday brew/gift from the irrepressible fuse; enjoyed belatedly; many thanks!!
    Style-ummmm
    Format-pint can
    Freshness metrics-canned on 6/11/2020L1 11:57
    Drinking vessel-snifter
Appearance-cloudy, medium amber; generous tan head
    Nose-cinnamon coffee
    Mouthfeel-gentle
Tastes-a spiced coffee/tea blend?; cinnamon and coffee first, then hints of chocolate, coconut and a blend of spices
Adjuncts-lactose, oatmeal, toasted coconut, coffee beans, tumeric and spices (not named)
    IBU-probably 40
    ABV-6.2%
    Overall impression-well blended/constructed
Ymm, Beer rating-low cat 3; very nicely conceived and executed; would seek out and certainly buy again

Batch 202-Dick's Brewing Company (for real)

Credit-neighbor with a mail order beer club membership; thanks!
    Style-Northwest IPA (uh-oh)
    Format-12 ounce bottle
Glassware-pint glass (didn't deserve anything "fancy")
    Appearance-murky amber; moderate, foamy head
    Mouthfeel-bitter
Tastes-pine, resin, hints of grapefruit and soap
    Malts-2 Row, Crystal 60, Carapils
    Hops-Simcoe, Cascade, Citra, Amarillo
    IBU-60
    ABV-6%
Overall impression-a mediocre effort at a west coast IPA, surprising given the hops used
Ymm, Beer rating-can't decide between upper cat 1 or lower cat 2; would not order/seek out

    Johan Barrel-Aged Barleywine (2020)
    Sun King Brewery
    10% ABV
    60 IBU
"Johan the Barleywine was the first batch of beer ever brewed at Sun King. Johan has a huge malt punch balanced with Pacific Northwest hops. Johan was the winner of the Gold Medal in the Barleywine-Style Ale category at the 2012 Great American Beer Festival, and the winner of the Bronze Medal in the Barleywine-Style Ale category at the 2011 GABF.

After years away and sitting in the barrel room for some time... Johan has made a 2020 return."

Sun King brought back a variation of their first ever beer this summer. Pours a dark red. Sweet, but not overly so. Caramel fruitiness. Don't get as much barrel as I was expecting. Overall, a lovely brew.

Almost like he had to post it. Like he was obligated. Like heads would roll if he didn’t.

Impressive credentials. A bit surprising it was the first batch of beer ever brewed at SK; that's quite the undertaking for starters !

Shocked, I say shocked that no one on DBR has responded to this post with a hearty, "You suck, Richard!"

Oops, forgot to do some research last PM WRT prior Cigar City brews I've enjoyed. Will complete my duty tonight after work. Sorry.
