Goose Island says they try to make each year's better than the one before. I haven't had any except 19 and 20, but I believe them. It's extremely impressive that a mass-produced beer could still be this good.

Plus the several world class variants they create every year.

I *may* have liked/appreciated this a bit better compared to last week sipping the second pint last PM but, for $8/pint can, I thought it overpriced for a low to mid cat 3 DIPA. Happy to have traded 2 and kept 2 for myself.

I'm delighted you showed up with the beer as promised. There's another poster who agreed to a beer trade a few years ago and "forgot" to purchase any traders. Being the kind, loving, generous soul that I was (and still am ), said poster still received my goodies. Not quite a welched pie bet, but...

Disclaimer: I haven't run a code in years. I do know the digits 9-1-1 however and, if you have a life preserver and/or a "hook," I can extend either one of those to the victim.

Very true.

But a Manhattan is mixing liquor with liquor. It’s different than taking a beautiful liquor and dumping a bunch of coca-cola or fruit juice on it. You can taste each liquor.

Manhattan is 2:1 bourbon:vermouth with a few spits of bitters and a cherry. Never skimp on the bourbon or the vermouth.

I’ll also say — Maker’s Mark as a bourbon base or straight up is more than fine too. Angel’s Envy is a bit next-level but I would not turn down a Maker’s Mark Manhattan or rocks.

New Glarus Apple Ale tastes totally, totally different in a traditional wheat beer glass (the tall, hour-glass shaped kind). Completely takes the apple juice flavor away from it. Still tasty & nice acidity, but not at all the taste when you drink it from a traditional shaker-style pint glass.
