Bond Brothers Local IPA
The brewery name pretty much says it all.
As good an IPA as you’ll find in the Triangle.
High hops, high gravity combined artfully.
New Sarum Sour Cherry Stout
Very vinegary sour.
An interesting beer I’m glad I had, not sure I’d revisit.

Neutron-Land Grand Brewing Company
Bought local, consumed at home.
Their explanation/tribute:
"Before there was even a term “super fans” there was a man that could make an entire stadium stand up and take notice with a goofy dance breakdown. Grab your cap and let the sounds of the band and the roar of the crowd guide your moves. Packed with Chinook, ID7, Citra, Mosaic, Zythos, and Amarillo hops this Double IPA packs a juicy hop punch and deserves a standing ovation. $1.00 from each six pack sold will go to benefit the Neutron Man Memorial Fund."

The beer:
Poured vigorously from a 12 ounce can into a pint glass, generating a generous, foamy head. Grapefruit rind and juicyfruit aromas. Strong grapefruity and tropical fruity tastes with light brown sugar and a bit of piney bitterness. I'd have never guessed 90 IBUs. The ABV is 8%. Both advanced stats make this high quality IIPA that I'd have again. The remainder of the 6er will be for sharing/trading. As usual, I'd pair with an entree with some heat. Ingredients:
HOPS: CHINOOK, ID7, CITRA, MOSAIC, ZYTHOS, AMARILLO
MALTS: SIMPSONS GOLDEN PROMISE, SIMPSONS CRYSTAL LIGHT

I had forgotten I had even signed up for this who knows how long ago.
I guess they ship to NC now.
Creature of Habit looks interesting: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/33324/
Guessing the "Reasonably Corrupt" name comes from being close to SEC country?
Plus, a brew for our less-than-honest neighbors 10 miles south on 15-501:

Apparently ahead of an unsubscribe, I now get Tavour emails.
I know one DBR resident who might get excited about this:
Bourbon County Brand Stout is everywhere, and it’s a great beer, but it’d be better with more Bourbon! We’re your small-batch hunters, and all you have to gather is your wits to get today’s 4.32 Untappd rated, 12 month Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout. Crafted by GABF’s Mid-Sized Brewery of the Year pFriem, this beer was named the #4 Wood-Aged Beer in the World by Beer Connoisseur for the way its boozy, oaky vanilla-caramel seduces the palate.
Dark Beer fiends struggle to find today’s brew — outside of three tiny bottle shops, pFriem’s BBA Imperial Stout doesn’t leave the Pacific Northwest. On the flipside, you can walk into pretty much any store in the country that sells beer and find BCBS.
For Tavour members, today’s choice is a no brainer: pFriem’s BBA Imperial Stout leaves the big beer stranded on its island and delivers a Bourbon boldness those water birds can’t compete with. It’ll make the widely-distributed BCBS fowl bawl.
Today’s 2018 vintage is rated 4.32 on Untappd from the lucky few who’ve tasted it.

It is with a supremely heavy heart that I report Sam’s Quik Shop is closing on 12/31.
Apparently the newer bottle shop on 54 will remain open.
I have so many memories of Sam’s as an undergrad, and as I got into craft beer.
😭😭😭😭😭
Hardywood GBS (2017 edition)
Was able to share this tonight with a great friend.
Great beer made better by great friends.
Capturing magic in a glass is a feat that Hardywood has patented.
Words fail.
Cheers!
Looking forward to the 14th and picking up all five sets of the Hardywood GBS. (Mine plus the four proxies) So far I’ve only tried three of the releases - the regular gbs, Christmas pancakes, and the bourbon barrel gbs. If you like the regular gbs you’ll love the bourbon barrel aged version.
Beer from rejected corn flakes??? 🤔
