Haw River a tear in the fabric IPA
Double dry hopped with nelson sauvin hop flowers
A cheery yellow gold colour.
Frothy, brief head.
Orange juice nose.
Orange rind and pith bitter forward with an orange juicy finish.
Not what I recall at all for nelson sauvin hops.
Cheers! 🍻
Southern Pines Brewing Dead Whales Tell No Tales
My first Cat 3 Pilsner!
Nice and crisp. Good depth. And 6.3% ABV, so no pushover. Loved it.Brewed in collaboration with Oak City Supporters, this Italian Pilsner was dry hopped with Saphir, Mandarina Bavaria, Hallertauer Mittelfrueh and Cluster hops to create a crisp, bold lager with floral,

Haw River Tasseography White
White peony tea leaves and white peppercorn saison
Prior acquisition was a mixed 4 pack of white, green, red and black.
Black was not available, opted for 4 packs of green and white.
Super amazing thick head that burst out of the can when opened, and took about 20 minutes to dissipate.
The nose is classic saison- sweet hay, a bit funky.
A little bit of peppery bite up front, mid palate starts as classic saison before growing florally sweet and then a crisp bite at the end which is surprisingly evocative of a very sharp tea.
Really very nice.
Cheers! 🍻
Picked up a $17 ($20.40 after tip) 4 pack from Burial this afternoon called Rationality Shall Run it's Course IPA. How the hell do they come up with these names?

Holy cow, this is good!
Notes of lemon, lime, peach, and melon. A bit dank and creamy. I find the NE IPA style to be hit or miss, either underwhelming or world-class, this one is the latter.
7.5% ABV. No IBUs listed, but I would guess around 35.
High CAT 3.
Casita Something So Sincere 2019
Quadruple Chocolate Imperial Milk Stout
4th anniversary beer. 10.5% ABV
Poured thin. No head.
Smells like bittersweet chocolate.
Like drinking liquid fudge.
Creamy, waves of dark chocolate.
A-maze-ing!
Another runway hit by Casita.
Cheers! 🍻
That sounds amazing, but no surprise given the brewery. Last month, I had a taste of older son-in-law's DIPA while we were at Burial and thought it was superb.
You, Tripping William and fuse are killing me this weekend. On call, three hours worth of yard work this afternoon, tremendous thirst and all I get is filtered water and Gatorade.
Come Monday...

Any suggestions for keeping half a crowler can from going flat? I have a high-gravity beer in a crowler, but even with help from Mademoiselle Tripping we won’t be able to drink it all in one sitting. I’m thinking of hanging on to an empty bomber then pouring the remainder into that and topping it. But that sounds labor-intensive. Other thoughts solicited.
