    Question of the evening:

    Rinsing your glass between beers:
    Always/Sometimes/Never/Under what conditions?

Always. Then shake the water out.

Ha! I clicked over to ymm, beer right before I was about to do this.

I do it every time. I usually even rinse my clean glass before my first beer because of my OCD.

Thrilling Daydreams-WMB, no, wait, Wise Man Brewing

Local? We lived there 4 years so it's still local!

    Credit-RJ199; thanks!!
    Style-double NEIPA
Package-metal cylinder containing two cups of ale
Stemware-if it's from Winston-Salem, there's a really good chance it gets poured into a Stella snifter
Appearance-mildly cloudy orange amber with a moderate, foamy head
    Nose-tangerine and cantaloupe
    Mouthfeel-slightly thick
Tastes-there's that cantaloupe again with some more tangerine, orange and a splash of pineapple and grapefruit; some zest at the end
Hops-Citra, Mosaic and Sultana (last one is new to me); a wonderful mélange
    IBU-91 (no. way.)
    ABV-7.7%; about perfect
Overall impression-another outstanding creation from WMB
Ymm, Beer rating-low, maybe mid cat 3; this was such a pleasing ale to sip over 30-45 minutes with our Italian sub/hero/hoagie/grinder tonight; find one!

Clean/different glass for every beer. Rarely drink two of the same back-to-back (unless perhaps it was 1991-92 ). Almost always a different style for the second beer, too.

Handwash most of my glassware unless it's a standard pint glass which I'll always rinse before I pour a beer into it, just in case the rinse cycle of the automatic dishwasher didn't perform its job properly. Soap is "deadly" to beer.

Here's my OCD showing: I'll also hand dry my glass, even after shaking it out or letting it sit upside down in the dish drying rack for an hour or more.

Yea, that shocked me when I saw that on their website. My palate thought 50-60.

Had my eye on this, and thanks to richardjackson199 and beergoddess, I get to try it!

Pours a brassy gold, minimal head.

The nose is spicy, woodsy, difficult to place.
I want to say cinnamon and that is completely, totally wrong.
Almost like a very mild, very pleasant cologne.

The description of Torn Paper Leaves Brazilian Oak is golden ale aged on amburana wood spirals.
No idea what amburana wood is 🤔

    Wow. Wow. Wow.

Golden ale is an undersell- the long description on the can says Belgian style tripel. This is a beer that would have been right at home in the last virtual pub.

Honeyed sweetness flows into a spicy mid palate before finishing dry.

I wish I could pull out all the melange of flavour in this beer.
We may be making a pick up trip to Saxapahaw.

A brilliant beer- thank you, richardjackson199 and beergoddess!

    Cheers all! 🍻
Torn Paper Leaves-Haw River Farmhouse Ales

    Local indeed

Credit-RJ199 and, of course, his lovely chauffeur and accomplice, the magnificent beergoddess; many, many thanks!!

I'm stopping there. Read fuse's review that I've quoted. There's nothing I'm able to add/improve on what he posted except this is a solid cat 3 beer and I could buy a case of this.

Shoot. In addition to today being National Doughnut Day, it is also National Gingerbread Day, so someone shoulda sipped a Hardywood Gingerbread Stout or one of the variants. My fault for not notifying Ymm, Beer this AM.

Cuz if you’re not, you’ll get defenestrated. By the Russians.
