    Barrel-Aged Honey Ginger - Ardent - 11.5 % - 18 IBU

Another outstanding beer from Ardent. I did this side-by-side with the Dark Rye to see which was better. It's tough. They're totally different. But this BBA one is much better than the regular Honey Ginger. I'm surprised how well the honey, ginger-finish, and fun, boozy bourbon work in this beer.

Again, a lot is going on. But it works like a great cocktail. Some vanilla and booze on the nose. Sweet honey flavor with lots of bourbon and spicy ginger on the finish. I'll tie it with the Dark Rye - High Category 2. Another very impressive beer! Thanks Devildeacs!

She is about 95 % from finishing her first full beer! The Seredipity, New Glarus of course.

It'll be very interesting how she ranks the NG fruit beers. My wife likes the Raspberry Tart, followed by the Wisconsin Belgian Red and then Serendipity. However, the likelihood of Mrs. dd finishing a full beer is:

    Rhinegeist Calfe coffee milk stout

Part of the most recent meet-up with devildeac and Beergoddess, this is a deliciously smooth milk stout. "Pillowy, silky, and aromatic" (the brewer's description) is correct. Very easy-drinking, both in its flavor profile and at 6.0% ABV and 25 IBUs. I caught a little hint of vanilla to it. A deliciously solid Cat 2 beer. Glad I got to sample, and appreciative to dd for selecting it.
"Amazing what a minute can do."

Always happy to read good (or bad) reports. (The real credit goes to our son for including this during our recent trading session.)
