Allow me to put on my conspiracy hat for a moment...most of this is meant to be taken light heartedly...or is it?

I'll be honest, I think there are some far right sleeper agents in the woke movement. I think they are in there acting like good soldiers and when the wokers have a meeting to talk about things to get worked up about, they chime in with an honest sounding suggesting which is really just ridiculous.

I think you need to go back to Occam's Razor. I was in academia way too long to have a scintilla of doubt that these people were completely in earnest. VERY earnest in fact. There is a well-known rule about what goes on within academic departments - the intensity of the in-fighting is directly proportional to the triviality of the issue.

Jørund Viktoria Alme, 53, an able-bodied man, now identifies as a disabled woman. Alme states that he has always wished he had been born a woman who was paralyzed from the waist down.

In addition to gender dysphoria, Alme claims to have a Body Integrity Disorder (BID), citing a “dissonance” between how he perceives himself and how his body functions. “I have struggled with this every day my whole life,” Alme told Vi, a Norwegian outlet, earlier this year. “In the same way that I experience being a woman in a man’s body, I experience that I should have been paralyzed from the waist down,” Alme stated.
