It's the home plate umpires call because the ball hit in the infield first. I actually think the Umpire at home plate got the call right. The third base umpire so impacted the play that I would have ruled the ball dead and had runners on first and second one out. On your discretion you could award third to the player at first base if you feel like in a live ball situation he could have made it. Originally Posted by Phredd3
