What a picture at the top of this Murdaugh story. Alex full prison look, Harpootlian giving the camera the stink eye and ol' gal on the left giving us all the crazy eye.

These people are the worst. John Grisham couldn’t even conjure up financial and legal shenanigans the likes of which surround this case.

Was it hear the W-S folks were talking about the Hope Solo incident? She's plead guilty, contrary to the immediate PR response.

I absolutely respect Hope as a competitor and member of the USWNT, but I'm not sure about "easily the worst mistake of her life." She's had quite a few high profile issues.

Yes, and not the first one putting children in danger, unfortunately.

It's nice to see that we no longer live in a culture where male athletes have the monopoly on really dumb and dangerous behavior. Or something.

Seriously though, she sounds contrite and I hope she learns from this public embarrassment.

The US Women's National Team is up there with favorite teams. Obviously Duke basketball is first but the Women's National Team has been as high as second for me at times. I don't have a rooting interest in college football or pro football and the Braves have been a bit problematic for me although I enjoyed last year's World Series. I was at Carolina at the same time as the Great Mia Hamm, so I started following the Women's National Team way back in the early 90s. Loved Hope Solo as a competitor and actually had a conversation with her in Seattle years ago. But she's pretty troubled and I recognize she has contributed to her demise.

On some level, it is inspiring to see people who have such amazing and public personal issues, but can excel at the absolute highest level in their field.

On another level, it seems like such an astonishing waste of talent.

On a different level entirely, it's not my business I suppose.

Some of it is we feel like we know these people because we watch them and read about them. We definitely don't know them.

Mental health issues are not our business but most criminal records are public domain for a reason - they are our business.

She’s put children in danger multiple times now so I hope she is both held to account and rehabilitates…and gets the help she needs.

THAT is NOT a "mischievous" smile! And her name is Pearl, of course!

Wouldn't be as scary if the barnacles didn't look like eyeballs. Makes the oyster look like a very literal biblical angel.

NC boy makes top 25 of national mullet contest

I must be slipping. When I first read this, I seriously thought they were talking about a fishing contest.

I have a lot of questions but my two initial ones are:

    1. Is that what the Soundgarden song is about?

    2. I really hope he uses lots of suntan lotion because a burn in that position would be really uncomfortable.

In 1994-95 my roommate at Duke was obsessed with grunge and Beavis and Butthead (he is now a successful doctor). Beavis and Butthead did a rif on that song, plus my roommate had the Soundgarden CD. So I heard it over and over and over again.

Apparently there is a Beavis and Butthead reboot coming out. I'm debating whether a) I want to see it, and b) whether I want my pre-teen kids to see it. I periodically break out random quotes from Beavis and Butthead which makes my kids crack up (even though they don't know the origin) and makes my wife roll her eyes.

Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14145426/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

It's already out on Paramount and, coincidentally, the IMDB description reads:

After a "creative" judge sentences them to space camp, a black hole sends our adolescent heroes 24 years into the modern future where the duo misuse iPhones, embark on a quest to score, and become targets of the Deep State.
