Yeah, this is a weird one. I'm wondering if it comes out that the other pilot "helped" him out of the plane. As he's talking to ground control people, he keeps saying "we" this and "we" that, but at that point, there is no longer a "we" in that plane. Horrible for the folks whose yard he landed in, too.

at one point I wondered if the copilot may have been trying to lean out and see what the wheel situation was, but had he just fallen out of the plane, you'd think the pilot would have noted that. Of course, had he jumped the pilot probably should have mentioned that, too.

Weird that we have heard no version of the pilot’s explanation. One possibility occurred to me - maybe drug/alcohol use by one or both parties? That could explain the pilot clamming up, if that is what happened. Obviously just wild speculation on on my part in an attempt to make sense of this.
