Thank you Alex. I hope you get to pinch hit today at the Stadium, and play all three games as DH in Boston this week, hitting 3 home runs. Of course, then you can hit #700 on Friday at Yankee Stadium and ride off into the sunset! And if those things don't really happen, that's OK too.

Wellll, even if he isn't the brightest penny in the box, he did apologize and he kept his mouth shut after he returned. He knows he's reviled and he knows the asterisk will always be attached pretty much to his soul.
All in all, kind of sad.

I got to meet A-Roid twice at Cameron Indoor Stadium. He was a neighbor of Dick Vitale and he came up for a couple of games at Duke. Vitale introduced us ... at the time A-Roid was with Seattle and just about the greatest shortstop since Wagner. I was blown away.

Now, he is still a great player in the class with Bonds, Clemens and the other cheaters.

There is sadness -- sadness for how he threw his legacy under the bus. He could have been one of the all-time greats.

Now, the game is better off without him.
