    Richard Lewis

Meant to post this yesterday but comedian Richard Lewis passed away yesterday after suffering a heart attack. He was a brilliant and uncompromising comic who in the final segment of his career was fabulous on Curb Your Enthusiasm with his close close friend Larry David. There are a lot of neurotic Jews out there (some in my family) but few as funny as was Richard Lewis.

Dang. That's too bad. I remember the first time I saw him on tv... he did the bit about how his dog had a nervous cough. He was absolutely hilarious.

He was fabulous on Curb. A few years ago he looked like Hell. I remember thinking early this season - he looks so much better.

Will miss his talent, and his foil to Larry David.

Absolutely. Those 2 together were amazing.

Apparently they were born at the same hospital two days apart. Back in those days moms stayed in the hospital after child birth for four of five days. So they were undoubtedly 'together' in that hospital 76 years ago.

Terrific and touching reflections on Richard Lewis from close friend and fellow comic Elayne Boosler:
