    RIP David Bowie

David Bowie, age 69 passed away from an 18 month battle with cancer. He just released his new album on Friday. His career was over a 4 decade period. I will remember David for his "Glam Rock".

Thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and fans.

For those wanting to spend some time with Bowie today, I strongly recommend CBS Eye on College Basketball writer Matt Norlander's "Records & Riffs" podcast deep dive on Bowie from earlier this year:

Quite surprisingly, the Bowie "expert" he interviews is ESPN talking head Bomani Jones who knows his Bowie backwards and forwards. It is really well done and provides a lot of suggestions from the catalog to listen to, most of it non-greatest-hits-type material.

I most remember his Christmas duet with Bing Crosby. Saw a whole new side of him.

Yes, they do. Lyrics take on a very new, sad meaning now. What an influence on music of the 60s and beyond.

No puns from me in this thread.

Fantastic musician who changed with the times and changed the times. Groundbreaking in so many ways - entertained so many generations of music enthusiasts.

Good night, Bowie. Thanks for sharing your gift with us.

I am very curios to listen to his last album (released two days ago). It's called Blackstar.

    Was he saying goodbye?
