No one should trust my fashion advice, but those are athletic socks. I wouldn't wear them with office attire, not even what IT people consider office attire, never mind legal or finance people.

The young Turks, who think $15 for a pair of LeBron socks is a great bargain (because it isn't their money) would probably be all over these.

If he is a lawyer wearing conservative suits to the office, what about these http://www.shopdukestores.duke.edu/e...tml&design=106 or this http://www.theduckshop.net/duke-iron...-silk-tie.aspx (I happen to own both and love wearing them).

The argyles and the charcoal socks are better, I think. The real problem with the original socks is that they are out of stock, if you're limited to online ordering.
Man, if your Mom made you wear that color when you were a baby, and you're still wearing it, it's time to grow up!

I love the argyles. They're dead sexy.

I have the argyle patterned socks sold by the Duke Stores. Love them for game day (they run small), but not the right style for office wear because they come only part way up the calf. An over the calf style is needed for proper wear with a suit, even zany proper wear.

If the idea is a Duke accessory for a man to wear with a suit, how about this:
    2 different bow ties

    Gothic D tie

    University rep tie

Duke football tie (basketball also available)

I can say this with certainty because those are the ugliest pair of Duke socks I've ever seen. So order them. You hate this lawyer, right?
Haha, I think this is why I had to approach the board.
Far from it, this is also a young man and a lawyer of whom I am growing very fond of as I watch him fall in love with a certain daughter-of-weezie.
    He's also a Duke man...
So, I'm going with a nice Duke blue scarf.

And thanks to everybody for taking the time to give pro/con sartorial advice!

Disagree. Buy him the fugliest thing possible, and put him to the test.

If he shows up at the house wearing them somewhere down the road -- he's a keeper.

Sounds like something the father of a daughter would say. I, otoh, am the mother and I am more inclined to be magnanimous.

When father-of-weezie gave his blessing to my intended, his best comment was, "That poor guy has no idea what he's just gotten himself into."
He put it far more colorfully though...

The only things that make me a better dancer are more lessons/classes and practice, practice and more practice. A can/bottle of "lubrication" liquid helps.
[redacted] them and the horses they rode in on.

Fascinating. Being from Detroit, I can only imagine your problem. We're born dancing in The D and we're happy to show off our abilities for all to see!

About 8 years ago I floated the idea of a Women of the DBR calendar as a DBR fund raiser. I had 8 or 9 months covered, but then the idea floundered.
