So I saw it...and expected it to be awful. And you know what...it was actually pretty good.

Had several laugh out loud moments. Was much more "serious" than I thought it would be. Did it last a little too long? Yes. Were some of the jokes flat? Affirmative. Could the ending have been a bit better? Absolutely.

But it's not a bad way to spend 2 hours. Seth Rogan is great. So is Gordan-Levitt. Some of the side characters steal every scene they are in (Jillian Bell, James Franco, and especially Michael Shannon who might be the best character actor out there right now). It was much better than Harold & Kumar 3, and one of the best (and funniest) Christmas themed shows I've seen in a while (better than Elf? Tough call. I didn't especially love Elf, but I know many who did, so I would say yes, with an implicit bias). It's also - suprisingly - a potential date movie.

Definitely would recommend it.
