Hey Mods, I know ya gotta pay the bills and all...

Can something be done about the ads on the DBR main page? I get that ads are necessary to pay the bills for SBNation, but is it necessary to take up 75% of the page? It's been like this for every main page ad lately, in a frame such as below. Just wondering if the frame can be reduced/eliminated, and if the size (height) of the banner can also be reduced.

It's almost like playing "Where's DBR?" (a la Where's Waldo?)

Interesting, your ad is for the WWE video game.

As I expect you are aware, the mods have zero control over this. Julian King and the folks who control the content on the main page also have zero control over it. I have seen the same thing on ESPN's main page with giant, expanding ads pushing the content well down the page. It is just a fact of life in the current internet era.

Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

I was hoping it would be passed along, or that Julian would maybe see this.

And I have seen it on ESPN and Yahoo and others, and it's just as annoying there. I figured it was worth a try to make the request here.

I'll try to push it up the chain. Not sure what traction I'll get, though...

Of course, you can pull a chain but not really push one.

    An observation

Boys boys boys... but I digress.

One thing I noticed about the huge ads on Yahoo & ESPN is that there's an option to "close" or "X" out of the ginormous banner ad, which shrinks it to standard banner size. I have yet to see such an option on the DBR/SBNation ads. Just an observation.

It would be similar to pushing on a string, but only heavier. Maybe that is what he is suggesting?

Perhaps it was a comment on the duality of man. The whole Jungian thing.
