Chelsea Gray is supposed to make her Spanish debut at 2:15pm EDT, although not against Tricia Liston, who is still busy with the WNBA playoffs. The game was listed at our old friend http://ligafemenina.febtv.com/index.aspx yesterday, but is not anymore so I do not know what the situation is right now. You might want to check at game time.

DeMarcus Nelson signs a short term deal in the French League with Monaco because Larry Drew II has an injury.

I am a little unclear on which games in Spain will be available. Chelsea's game was listed and then not shown and then Haley's game was not listed and then ended up being added close to game time.
    Replay of Chelsea's game:

Shay Selby is injured and thus will likely miss her season opener, but German league games should be available to watch as well.

Chelsea Gray made her debut in Spain after making her way there after the WNBA season. Chelsea's new team is Uni Girona, the defending champions, as they started the season with Super Cup against powerhouse Avenida. Tricia Liston is scheduled to join the club from Salamanca, but due to the WNBA playoffs, she was unable to play in this game against Chelsea. Chelsea's teammates include ex-Oklahoma player Ashley Paris, ex-Robert Morris player Artemis Spanou, and rookie Tay'ler Mingo from Florida State. Tricia's teammates include ex-USC player Jacki Gemelos who was also delayed by the WNBA playoffs, ex-Florida State player Leonor Rodriguez, ex-Hofstra player Vanessa Gidden, ex-Drexel player Gabriela Marginean, ex-UTEP player Kristine Vitola, and ex-WNBA player Astou Ndour. On Friday, Haley Peters started her season in Spain. After a strong season in the league last year, Haley found herself with an offer from a better team, joining Conquero based in Huelva. Her teammates include ex-Texas A&M player Adaora Elonu and ex-Cal player Talia Caldwell. Haley led her team to victory, pouring in 25 points and adding 6 rebounds in 37 minutes. Caldwell added 10 points. Gabriela Marginean had 13 points in the loss.

On Saturday, Shay Selby missed the start of her season in Germany due to injury. After a return to professional basketball late last season, Shay impressed teams and ended up signing with Osnabruck, which was just promoted to the top division after winning their region of the second division last season. Her teammates include recently arriving ex-Michigan State player Jasmine Thomas, rookie Katelyn McDaniel from San Diego, ex-Arkansas player Skye Rees, and injured ex-Auburn player Chantel Hilliard. Ex-IPFW player Juliane Hohne was going to play, but will probably only be the head coach. Their opener against Avides was expected to be tough with all of the player absences, but they put up a good fight before losing 72-70. In the win, ex-Texas Tech player Kierra Mallard had 15 points and 10 rebounds and former Wisconsin-Milwaukee player Angela Rodriguez had 10 points.

Mistie Bass was still in the middle of the WNBA playoffs, so she did not make it to France in time for the start of the season. It will be the second season for her with Lattes Montpellier as she continues her overseas career in France. The team returns a number of familiar faces, including WNBA player Jenna O'Hea, who also did not make it to this game, Valeriane Ayayi who just finished her first WNBA season, and ex-UC Irvine player Naomi Halman. On the opening weekend, instead of starting the regular season, the team played in the Match of Champions against defending league winners Bourges. Both teams were a little short of their full rosters, but it was a close game throughout as they fell just short 63-60. Halman had 11 points. In the win, ex-Nebraska player Danielle Page had 18 points and 13 rebounds and ex-Maryland player Diandra Tchatchouang had 12 points.
